I love the Yorkshire tea toast and jam as well as the biscuit tea 😍 I watch you for reading inspo as I want to read more but spend wayyy too much time on my phone or distracted so any tips on how to delve into reading would be amazing!!
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
Oooh I have the biscuit one too - so good! And honestly, that’s something I really struggle with too - it’s so easy to reach for your phone so maybe putting it out of reach while reading and maybe setting a timer to read for 30 minutes without touching your phone!

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts of the other Bridgerton books!!! I’m currently reading the third one. The second was much much better then the first in my opinion 😊 and the third is looking to be even better then the second. I’m looking forward to the forth the most because Colin seems such a sweetie!!!

Pancake Day has roots in Christianity. It's typically called "Shrove Tuesday." It's a thing in most countries with large Christian populations. I think as things have become more secular, it's been referred instead to as Pancake Tuesday. My kids typically are served pancakes at school except it had to be cancelled this year due to COVID. Wish we could get that toast & jam version of Yorkshire in Canada! I can only find the biscuit speciality version, the toast and jam looks so yummy!
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
I went to church schools so definitely know about shrove Tuesday but really I’m just here for the pancakes and for some reason totally forgot about that when I was wondering if other countries celebrate it (lockdown brain)😂 I hope you can get the toast and jam tea eventually, it’s so yummy!

Love this video! I have just finished watching the show and have read the first two books I loved both of them but I totally agree with you on the issue of consent and male rape (particularly in the book) it made me really uncomfortable and I wish it had been looked into more deeply. I would absolutely love to see you reading the next books in the series as I have every intention of reading them all myself too :D
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
Glad you agree! It’s such a shame it was handled that way! But I’m really excited for the rest of the series!

I’m reading Les Miserables and I also included a soundtrack with my reading experience and it’s so nice!!! First time I tried it was when I was reading Harry Potter with those ambience KZbin videos of the Gryffindor common room. I think it works well with non contemporary/fantasy reading because it “transports” us to the books world 🙂

I`m also currently reading the first book and I have to say... I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would (especially after watching the show). The prose is quite bad; and I constantly find myself getting pulled out of the story because of it. I'm 150 pages in and we're only on the second encounter of Simon and Daphne and so far there's no other side-storyline.
@ciarascorner4 жыл бұрын
Ahh that’s a shame - there aren’t really any side storylines, it basically just focuses on Simon and Daphne! I agree it’s not the best writing but I kind of expected that so didn’t mind too much!

Good afternoon. I haven’t read The Duke and I. I am more of a reader of contemporary romance. I like reading contemporary romance. I am in the middle of reading a really good book by an author that I like.

Yeah, I typically gravitate to contemporary romance - in fact, this is my first ever historical romance read! But I’m definitely glad I gave this book a try!

☕️ 🍓 🍞 🧈‼️ Yum‼️ I love how your sweaters match the cover of the Duke & I! Ps: I’m almost done with Orpheus Girl and it’s still on the bleak side luckily I managed to lighten the mood with some other books. Like Pride & Prejudice; at the part where Bingley has returned which makes me so happy because I love it when he and Jane get back together! I haven’t got any further than in A Girl’s Guide To Tea & Tomorrow but soon. As for Heartless I think I should be done with soon, it’s still as good as I remember it! Then I decided to pick up The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey; and I’ve managed to get up 19 chapters, and 117 pages‼️ Wish me luck‼️
