This is so interesting to watch. I live in Mexico and the process to enter college/university is so different! Here you just pass an exam with a lot of general subjects...it’s pretty hard though. I would’ve loved for it to be essays like these 🥺♥️ I love to write and no wonder you got in! That last essay sounded so philosophical 😂♥️

Just some advice from a senior. Study and do well on the SAT. Volunteer, join clubs that you are interested, do sports. Do your best in school and build strong relationships with your teachers. Enjoy life because soon it's gonna get rlly stressful. :)

haha I applied to MANY colleges, they were all the UCs, all the IVYs, MIT, Stanford, University of Chicago, Northwestern, Duke, etc. (so most of the top 25 colleges in the US News ranking)

I’m a junior in highschool, im hoping to go to duke university. i have two things. one, i’m not out to my family but i am apart of the lgbtq community so what should i do about that? secondly, what are some tips for my essay? how and where do you write them?

Hey! Thanks for asking some great questions. Professionally, I'm not sure what you mean about your membership of the LBGTQ community so I would love it if you could clarify a bit (no worries if you're not comfortable). Secondly, I would say that if I was a college admissions officer stuck in a room reading essays all day, I would love to read an interesting story. And that's what the essays are is just a story about yourself + a bit of accomplishments at the end. I usually blurt my ideas out on a google doc in a library, park, etc. for a change of scenery. Hope this helps :)
