BRO!!! once i saw the video notification I thought it might be what I suggested.. AWESOME video man.... so informative and the ground view was perfect. you could see the cut perfectly in vince's video. I actually scouted a beach i wanted to fish at a minus tide and went back and fished it at high tide and finally landed my first perch. watching this video put all the pieces together cause its exactly what i was seeing at high tide. your content is awesome and the fact that you take viewer suggestions to heart is epic. thank you and tight lines brother

@Hook2Cook Fellas, I have watched many vids to learn reading structure as I am a beginner at surf fishing in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area and really, really, REALLY want to target halibut well. I have been hoping to find a vid that would show me what to look for from the ground in relation to what the videos show from above. THIS video helped a LOT as most of us don't have a drone along with us on our ventures, lol! I do scan the surf from a higher vantage point before approaching but once I'm there on the beach, I lose perspective. THIS was exactly one of the helps I needed, thank you! Now, my QUESTION is, how do I distinguish ideal perch conditions from that of halibut? It seems to me that more turbulent water around the structure may be better to target perch, and calmer longer spaced swells at lower to incoming tides are better for halibut, in general? Is my thinking correct? Thanks again!

Hey bud 😊thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed this video Ed created. Just a note, we were catching them in the wash. I was casting directly over the biggest wave, and also fishing that retrieve through the trough behind it. But yes it was directly adjacent to a big cut! And that’s how the fish get into the trough so they can feed on the sand bar. 👍
