Our Vietnam Vets have been so miss treated for way too many years. They put their lives on the line for ALL AMERICANS to have or keep our freedom.❤ 🤍💙 thank you Amanda great vlog.

The way that Vietnam veterans were treated is, in my opinion, one of the most shameful things in our country's history.

It was definitely a traumatic book, realistic and worth the read. So sad her parents treated Frankie and her work so poorly since she was a woman. I was so ashamed of the American citizens for their treatment of our Vietnam Vets. I really loved the ending. I gave it 5 stars. As I listened to your vlog, I kept praying you wouldn’t give up on this. Love your channel. It’s always a welcome boost to my day. Thank you.

I was so excited you decided to do a reading vlog on this book cause I wasn’t sure if I would like this. I’m currently number 250 in line to get it in the library. I had an uncle on my dad’s side of the family that fought in the Vietnam war and afterward he suffered from ptsd and end up ending his life over it. This was all when I was too young to understand but my dad talks about him a lot and said they treated the veterans of the Vietnam war bad which is so sad! That’s the reason why I’m so interested in reading it. I think despite all the trigger warnings I will still read it.

WOW!!! I have been toying with the idea of reading this book. After this vlog, it is a must. I have never read anything by Kristin Hannah, and this sounds like a good place to start. In college, over forty years ago, I took a course entitled HISTORY OF THE SIXTIES. It left an impression on me that has never left me. The Vietnam Nam War and how our military was treated when they returned has always held a special place in my heart. As always, thank you for the honest review. Have a fantastic weekend with the family, and take some time for yourself. Whenever I have an emotional read, I have to take a break from reading. ❤❤❤

Thank you for this vlog. I originally planned on reading this but I’m very sensitive to violence and trauma so had already made up my mind not to read it. I loved your thoughts and how you were able to talk about the important points and themes without spoilers for those that will read the book.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in this vlog! I have The Women sitting on my shelf and just haven't had a chance to get to it yet, but I need to soon. I've read several Kristin Hannah books and, of the ones on your shelf, I would most recommend Firefly Lane and The Nightingale. Firefly Lane is a story of two girls who meet and become friends when they're 13 and then the story follows them over the next 30 years. There are a couple of sex scenes (a bit graphic, unfortunately, but not too long from what I remember), some language, and a brief SA scene, so just know that going in. But their friendship is a rollercoaster as they come from very different backgrounds and choose very different life paths. Also, Fly Away is a sequel to Firefly Lane, so don't read that one yet. I can't remember specific content for The Nightingale, so unfortunately I'm no help there, though I know there is some language.
