I just came on KZbin to watch your older vlogs and there’s a new video! I am from India so I don’t know much about the history of America but what happened was really sad to see. India isn’t free of discrimination either but I really hope for a better future. So happy to see efforts being taken by people to just be better and do better. It is so very inspiring and I want to do better too.

It is comforting to see that you are making an effort to understand what we are faced with. I was brought up in a family that never taught racism but the world showed me what racism is. I was taught to treat others how you want to be treated and to not feed into the ignorance of other people. I'm glad the realization of the injustices that has continued without punishment for years, is finally reaching those who honestly did not see it before. Thank you for making this video.

Hello from Japan! Just wanted to say that you are one of the most down to earth creators out here. I love your calming and beautiful videos that you make. I've actually been reading "with you" (while having your 1 hour long reading video on in the background) every single night! It helps me focus on my reading and I feel like I have a friend reading along with me! I look forward to your video every week! Thank you for addressing anti-racism and educating ourselves through reading because that's what I've been focusing on these days too! You're inspiring and I hope to make a book related video soon too! Love, Sato
@MorganLong4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Sato! Thank you so so so very much for this kind comment. I'm so glad you feel like you have a friend in me. I'm going to do another reading vlog this week, but I think my next video after that will be a new "Read with me." I'm thinking of doing it outside 🌼 It's so important to educate ourselves on how to be anti-racist. Only once we truly understand the issue and how we've contributed to it can we make a difference and consciously choose to live in a way that supports black lives. Your English is amazing, are the books you're reading in English? If so, let me know if you have any books you recommend on the subject! Lots of love, Morgan
@satopin77704 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind reply! It made my whole day! I cannot wait for your next "Read with Me" video! I grew up learning in international schools my whole life so I've studied in English my whole life! My favorite book that I always recommend to others is "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. It's quite intense but the first time I learned more about the culture of Kabul. It moved me and I couldn't stop thinking about it for months!

I just finished So You Want to Talk About Race last week. It's a very useful introduction , but is also great for those who may already know about these things but are struggling to explain them or talk about them with family. It has been especially useful for talking with family/friends. Glad you've found the resource.
@MorganLong4 жыл бұрын
It's been immensely helpful! It's always easier to talk about things when we feel like we know what we're talking about, especially with speaking with family and friends who have a particularly strong emotional hold on you and who may disagree with what you're saying. And it doesn't stop here!

I love that your mug says: See the Good. I think that is so important today to look for the good people in the world who are the helpers and stand up for what’s right.
