So far, you have only met just about the worst character of the entire series so far... and you will have to read on to find out why lol. The Dark Tower (starting with The Gunslinger) is Stephen King's magnum opus. References to the Dark Tower show up in several of King's other books. I'm guessing you will pick The Gunslinger as your winner since you already seemed to love the first line.

Dark Tower was an excellent series. Read the series years ago before he put out book 4.5 so I need to read the series again. There are references to this series in other King books.

Just make sure you read "Salem's Lot" and "Hearts in Atlantis" before you get to book 5 ("Wolves of the Calla"), and also ""Insomnia" before book 7 (" The Dark Tower")

Classic King :D You start and you can't stop I think Gunslinger is one of the least loved from the series, but it's in my top3 of the entire series. Really short and fantastic beginning of a series BTW You might want to read Jerusalem's Lot (short prequel novella) and 'Salem's Lot (novel) before the 5th Dark Tower book. Not mandatory, but it gives some background of 1 of the major characters in it. EDIT: Enjoyed the format of the video. Very entertaining :D

I've no idea how any of these chapters go, but I'm hoping you'll choose Amina Al Sirafi because that's what I want to dive into (ArrgHG! Kraken!). I'm worried Stephen King will hook you though, he's good at that, but I think you should do some more pre reading of King before getting into the Magnum Opus - that's the plan I'm committed to anyway, to read all his works chronologically and the works I hear are tied into the story to some degree.

Oh well, Hail to the King! At least you (maybe) won't have to read every volume in a row, you can intersperse them some: for instance, reading Salem's Lot before book 5, Wolves of the Calla, is a very good idea I'm told. If you want I can tell you what my research has dug up on other stories that fit into the Dark Tower.

Jade City is the best out of any book you will have ever read and it isn't the best book in The Greenbone Saga... that's how good The Greenbone Saga is! Also, Barrow is absolutely the hero... of his own story! I think it was fair to read two from that last one, feels like that should have been a comma instead of a period. My guess is Adventure's of Amina because it's been this long telling you how great Greenbone Saga, so it won't be that, and it's probably the next best. Edit: Nope didn't guess it, Gunslinger is good but it's a bit short. I honestly think Jade City would make a far better video for your reading vlog, there is a lot more to say about the characters and the world and the morality of the Greenbones plus there are 2 more long books to do follow up videos for.

Just fyi, that first line of the prologue of the first book was a variant of the Basmala, an Islamic quotation used at the beginning of all of the Qur'an's 114 chapters, except chapter 9. Wikipedia uses the rendering "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," and my own copy of the Qur'an uses "In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Giver of Mercy."
