Didn't get to upload my confession so here it is (I probably am delulu): I know this rather attractive male who's a good friend of mine that has never had a girlfriend. He's tall to the point where I have to actually look up a bit (partially due to the fact that I'm below average height but that doesn't matter), charismatic, dramatic at times and is just a silly guy. At several points this guy has called me "mommy" (probably because I'm considered the mom of our little friend group but idk), jokingly told other people to shut up so that he could talk to me and has told me on several occasions that he finds me cute or that I've gotten cuter. The thing is, a few months ago he had this massive crush on a girl I'm now friends with. He was sweating, nervous and all. During that period, he randomly told me that I was cute but that she was cuter. Idek how to describe how I felt in that moment 💀. Anyways, after he moved on from the crush (despite her seemingly reciprocating his feelings), he has continued to express his want for a girlfriend and has continued to joke around with me saying things like how I spoil him and know him well. So, am I delulu for thinking he has at least a little attraction towards me and that I have a chance with him even if it's a small one? Sorry for how long this was. Tl:dr - Got a crush on a friend who says things to me that could be considered flirting but I don't know if he actually means it or anything. Edit: To help diagnose my deluluness or lack thereof (idk), I'll just give two random interactions we've had. If you see this and you know me irl, no you don't. 1. He does this thing where he just walks behind me, lightly squeezes the back of my neck twice to grab my attention. Whenever he does it he just laughs it off and says what he wanted to say. Sometimes I return the favor and he doesn't complain about it . 2. Around a month or so ago, he forgot his wallet at home and didn't realize until it was too late to just go back for it so while I was getting my lunch he jokingly asked me to buy fries so that we could share it. Instead, I decided to just get him the fries and a bottle of water (he had mentioned that his water was nearly finished) and he was pretty surprised by it. While we were walking to our eating spot he casually said "You know me so well" (which is one of the things I mentioned it in my previous yapathon). Edit 2: I'm back to thank everyone for their thoughts on my situation (I've read all of them) and reading the replies made me realize I should've clarified something. The time he said "you're cute but she's cuter" was probably not meant to be taken seriously but I did kinda take it to heart in the moment. This was back before her and I were friends (we became friends a week ago) and during the three weeks he had a crush on her. We were back from a short break and a mutual friend said I was cute. Right after that, he said "you're cute but she's cuter". Sorry for any misunderstandings I caused, it wasn't intentionally done 🙇‍♀️ Prolly final edit: It's been five months and I think I can say I've moved on but infatuation and feelings in general are complicated. I'm not interested in chasing relationships or any guys at this point in time as I wanna improve myself for me. I wanna be able to look in the mirror and think I like the person I see as my confidence has been in the dumps for a while. Even if I was still interested I wouldn't be confident enough to actually pursue the guy only to get rejected.
