Happy new year! My favorite cozy fantasy so far was Legends and Lattes and I wasn't expecting to like it much. It was a delightful surprise. I will be reading Spells For Forgetting at the earliest after this vlog ❤ I just read the Spellshop and it's pretty great even though the last part felt dragged out and naive. I'd recommend it for sure

About the white book problem: Use a book cover/jacket. I'm pretty sure you'd already own one since they do come in book boxes. I use one for my hardcovers as I hate reading with a dust jacket. Keeps the book clean and fingerprints off the foiling! I enjoyed both Legends & Lattes and the prequel but I thought (and I've recommended these in the past) that You Can't Spell Treason without Tea and it's sequel (2 more to be published this year) by Rebecca Thorne were just a bit better. It's also a sapphic light romance (nothing spicy) about a woman who was a guard for the queen who wants to get out of the palace and open up her own shop with her partner. It sounds like you had a really good reading time! It's rare for me to have so many good reads in a row, where I just want to keep on picking up the book or a new one once finished so I'm happy that seemed to happen for you! Audio book narrators can really make or break a book. I really haven't gotten into audio books until fairly recently because of that, and even then, I tend to save them for long car rides or if I'm doing a project that I want to distract my mind with.

I'm glad you enjoyed Edinburgh bookstores. Emily Wilde and its sequel were my cosy books.

I’m glad you enjoyed Legends & Lattes! To me that is the coziest book, I don’t find a lot of other books cozy that are calling themselves that. And I agree I would prefer no romance in the cozy books because I love the friendships! The Phoenix Keeper is on my tbr 😊

I agree aboout Murder Road. With the name alone you would think it would be scarier and it just wasn't. It was fine, easy to read but not what I expected. I love that little cafe you went to with your gf. Its so pretty and colorful. I wish there was a place like that around where I live. It would be nice to meet with friends for a catch up. I've bought from Blackwell's online and it's nice that they ship overseas like Waterstone's. Sometimes I can get books cheaper buying from those two stores including shipping than Barnes and Noble in the US. The Book of Azrael does have spice but it's a slow burn and doesn't hit until more to the end and even then it's not as much as the other books in the series. Good choice getting The Unmaking of June Farrow. That was a good book.

@Wanderness I'm sorry. I have extremely minimal experience with KZbin, but yeah, I wasn't thrilled about the speed things take to load 🥲

I also just bought Blood over Bright Haven. Had non idea it existed but it saw it in an outlet and the synopsis sounds amazing. June Farrow was amazing! It is one of the books that I keep thinking about after I read it the past year.
