Just played singleplayer for about an hour and all I can say is... WOW. This feels like one of those "dream games" that I never thought could actually happen in 2021. It is THE spiritual successor to SWAT 4 in every conceivable way, and stunningly high-quality for a small studio. And the game isn't even finished yet! I am just in awe, and can't wait to see how much it improves over the coming months/year(s).

@@abruskabrus3677 well, they shifted their focus noticeably towards solo and cooperative play instead of doubling down on the PVP approach they showed in said multiplayer playtest last year. Above that, the overall atmosphere and level of polish increased drastically in the last couple of months. The game is now in a very playable and enjoyable state and I didn’t expect them to reach that state so quickly.

Barricaded suspect: Every map has it, Default gamemode, rescue hostages and arrest/kill suspects, and usually a third obj ( Finding evidence specific to that map like shipping records or 2 guns, Finding a Named Hostage, etc). Fun gamemode to learn the game for beginners. I suggest playing the Maps in this Mode for 30ish hours so you get a little bit used to everything and learn the Basic Layout of the Maps. RAID: only 2 Maps so far has this gamemode for now, really aggressive suspects that you will more likely kill than arrest, very fun. 1 map has it's Layout changed so you will have to get used to how this one plays Out differently. Bomb: 2 Maps have this gamemode for now, really fun gamemode, i belive the Timer of the Bombs are 8 minutes, you only have 2 bombs per map, also need to find hostages and suspects. 1 map has it's Layout changed so you will have to get used to how this one plays Out differently. Active Shooter: only 1 map has this gamemode on for now, you need to find a set amount of suspects fast before they kill the civis, Most likely by Shooting them rather than non-lethal but its still possible. Each dead civi will be counted on your Score. Hostage rescue: 2 Maps have this gamemode for now, Brutal gamemode, you need to find where the suspects and hostages are located before you get spotted by one, as soon as a Shot goes Off, the suspect will kill all of the hostages and then will roam around to kill you. 1 map has it's Layout changed so you will have to get used to how this one plays Out differently. Very fun Game but it will get a bit boring for solo players after you learn the maps but the AI is truely unpredictable for each Play Session ( I had multiple times where they Spawn rush me or they Flank me 2 minutes in the session, or bait hostages, or Just Rush at me through an unlocked Door with a Shotgun while im busy trying to breach, i have a Lot more examples lol ), I suggest Finding Friends or Going in the RoN discord and looking for people there, hopefully some supportes will be on that discord too to Help people out.

Trust me the game will be and might already be better than swat 4, like imagine, your in the hotel (this happened the other day), you just cleared out the opening room and arrested a civilian, your team stacks up on a door, one checks below the door for traps and suspects and its safe for traps but he says there is one suspect, you order them to kick down the door and clear, they do so, you scream "hands up" and the guy puts his hands up halfway to kneeling before reaching behind his back and pulling out a pistol, in that moment it felt real, like less gamey, I didnt expect that at all and had to react quickly, alot of moment like this, alot of "oh shit" moments

I've watched a lot of gameplay of this online and I'm very happy with what I'm seeing, however I have some feedback: First is to prioritize making NPC and enemy AI more reactive to player actions, especially noise made in the adjacent room to where these NPCs are. A civilian hearing shouting, shooting and explosions in next room would probably try to run away or hide, not just stand there. Second, NPC reaction to bullet hits: i have noticed many enemies and NPCs being shot through vital organs and being absolutely fine (even acting sassy at the player) while having entry and exit wounds in places that would kill anyone. I don't know if that very impressive bullet impact system you advertised a few years ago was scrapped or what, but as things stand bullet impacts and reactions are not realistic or believable at all. Still, this looks great, keep up the good work!

Irl in combat even if shot straight through the heart, people can often not even show a reaction and continue attacking you as if you missed. The reactions wont kick in until some time later, basically they are dead men walking. But for me to say thats intended, they would have to die after a time if you bailed out of the room for example and left them in there. I haven’t tested that but I doubt that is whats going on.

Here they are: - A Debriefing section from superiors before the mission starts, a calm before the storm. - A narrative undertone portrayal of dark themes centering around the dystopian of humanity. - More SWAT members on scene, ready to assist dead player’s still stuck in spectator mode as a reinforcement bunch. Or as extra backup for solo players. - Strangely enough, was there a sniper mode in Ready or Not? There was a sniper mode in SWAT 4 which makes things a lot more personal from a different perspective, and somehow, it’s not in Ready or Not from what I saw. - Tutorials and downtimes hangouts for players to unwind and maybe dip their donuts in coffee and creams and eat it at their own leisure until the next mission. Although there is no sprint, can we get a faster manuever mechanic where we can walk faster in order to stop suspects from running away, also it doesn't make for a good time when you are too slow to get into cover while bullets are flying into a doorway. I get that sprinting wouldn't make the game have the atmosphere ready or not is going for but moving quickly through the fatal funnel so that more of your teammates can enter the room and clear corners is also important.

Seeing as this game is based on swat 4, one feature that should really be added is being able to give squad mates orders through the camera. As it now stands, you can’t give orders to people from afar, so it makes it really hard to split your group into 2 halfs, you kinda just have to move as one group. Great game though I’m loving it so far.

It looks great and I've been looking forward to playing this ever since I bought the Standard Edition back in '19, but I can't help but notice the AI seems a weird at times. I'm specifically talking about timestamp 1:40 and 2:05. I'm also a bit worried about AI teammates breaching doors. In SWAT 4, the AI would get lit up as they stood in front of the door and opened it. It felt like a cointoss whether AI teammates would survive or not, and impact your final score for the level. Edit: I just want to reiterate that I'm really excited for this game, having been hooked on SWAT 4 back in the day, but I just wanted to voice some of my concerns, hopefully in a somewhat constructive manner.

I've been playing for 10 or so hours now, purely with AI team-mates. When they breach, they normally do it well, by approaching from the side and not standing in front of the door until it's open. That said, I find it easier for them to mirror first, then decide whether to do a dynamic breach, grenade & clear or a quiet open & clear. They can jank a bit, but it's not as often as you'd think.

It was my main concern too because like you mentioned, in SWAT 4 they tend to stick in the death funnel for far too long. From what I can see, they breach pretty well in this game. There is some jank at times but it's still early access so I'm not too worried as it is already better than SWAT 4 was in that regards. It will most likely be improved for the final version.

Hey guys don't know if you'll read this but it would be really cool if you could add the option of using hand gestures when giving orders to your team, that way it would become way more immersive and realistic, cuz well suspects are not deaf, also, I saw this video where some guys played a bomb defusal mission with a timer, which added a lot more tension to the experience, that'd be nice. i would like to commend the Dev. Team for now shying away of a very recent threat... and actually make it a gamemode. i've been playing for around 50 hours, and i can say that "Active Shooter" is the hardest and most emotionally impactfull experiences i ever had in my life. the fact you are suppose to be quick, for every second ticks on as every civilian is in constant threat in the entire map. but if you are careless and irresponsible with your actions, you will just be adding more bodies to the count.

hey VOID! some ideas: - An IR illuminator WITH laser would be amazing, the MAUL, DBAL or the PEQ or something, idk - A new option for primary weapons called "Weapon Mod" where you can choose one of multiple different options such as: "Bad Lever," "Sling," (faster corner manipulations), "momentary light/laser switch," "Enhanced Buffer" (VLTOR A5 or something) for better dwell time (faster shots), and "non lethal beanbag shotgun M203 thing" for quick handling of a hostage... other possible options

You get: - a primary weapon, - secondary weapon, - tactical slot (shield/ram/breaching shotgun/mirror gun), - armour (none/light/medium), - head gadget (gas mask/anti-flash goggles/NVGs/etc), - Grenade (Flashbang/CS Gas/Stinger), - Tactical item (Door wedge/breach charge/Pepper spray). - You always carry a multitool that deals with locked doors and cuts trip-wires for traps. Weapon customisation depends on the weapon you're using. The non-lethal pepperball gun can only equip at torch. An M4A1 can change sights, grip, rail, muzzle, magazine. I'm not sure what effect the different attachments have as there's no stats, which I hope the Devs deal with in good order. Hope that helps!

I've spent 15 minutes walking around the hub world. It's not clear what to do in this part, and you can walk for miles to the other end of the hub world with nothing to do there, and then you have to walk all the way back again to the room with the briefing aghh. Trying to find how to use the training section downstairs? This video at least shows how to start a mission but in game we really have no idea what to do to get started

It’s rare for me to say this, but this is the first early access that feels like a triple a game. I’ve put countless hours and I still can’t get enough of it simply because of the intense immersion. I’m looking forward to your full release and please….don’t rush your game, I know you lost your publisher surrounding the controversy, and I think separating with team 17 was a good call. You should run your game that you want it to be and I hope you fulfill your promises.

absolutely loving this so far. was a big SWAT fan back in the day so this is phenomenal. One question - is there a way to get your AI mates to jam doors for you? I havent quite been able to figure it out yet. the statement at 4:56 made me wonder. cheers.
