Not really, you could just have someone hold the angle from the back or clear out the perimeter first. It would be actually useful if it didn't take up an ammo/grenade slot for a single use and if you could pick them up and reuse them. They are SS tier in zombie mode tho.

​​@@mustysmells817I'm guessing they used to be worse, because currently just 1 slot gives me 2 uses, and I can pick them up and reuse them. Also no, leaving someone behind isn't better, unless it's a human player. Friendly AI have a chance to get wiped out, and if the enemy surrenders at the door there's a chance they'll walk right up to it and have someone else shoot at them. I think hotel is a good example of their usefulness, as the whole map loops, so you can cut off the loop right at the start.

Door wedge is great. It can keep suspects from coming through doors behind you. Also useful with any room that has two doors as an entrance. Pick which one you wanna enter through and pop a wedge on the other. Now you don't have to worry about a suspect running off forcing you into a dangerous chase.

Light armor is literally useless though, there's no speed difference so there's no reason not to use heavy The flash goggles are also useless until the 9bang gets added, why would you go into a room before the flash has gone off? After it's gone off you don't need the goggles either because it's also gone off If you're not checking doors enough to where you get flash trapped then you're probably just gonna die to the IED anyway

There is actually a huge speed difference between Light and Heavy. I noticed it immediately when I put on Heavy after using Light many rounds in a row.

I'd put the flashbang on lower B, since for me that thing works sometimes and stuns suspects, and sometimes it just does nothing to them.

battering ram is good if paired with someone who uses mirror gun. also if you ram the door, step to the side, not in. then you dont die while your team does the pew pew. Edit: in our team of 5 we usually run 1 shield, 2 mirror guns, 1 ram, 1 breaching shotgun

just like my team. 1 Shield(Me) 1 Ram and 1 Mirror gun. The Ram guy always make room after busting up the door so the shield(me) can go in without a boddy block. sry for bad grammer, if there is any. In not good in english.

Door wedge S for sure. Swat excel in choke points where the enemy can only come in from one direction and where swat can focus all their equipment and training to push through in one area. SWAT is outnumbered and the best way to mitigate numbers is one way choke points. Door wedges allow you to turn anything into a one way choke point by sealing off ways enemies can enter and flank you. People always talk about dynamic situations where anything can change and the mission can go crazy/wild fast. Door wedges allow you to un-dynamic a situation and keep things organized/unchanging by essentially cutting the map into nice manageable bite sized chunks where you can seal off areas you are not ready for yet. It also stops suspects from entering areas behind you, ensuring your cleared areas stay clear. The door wedge is more for the low speed, high drag kind of operators who take things slow and arrest all they can and while killing only as a last resort.

battering ram : IF door is locked, and you don't want to lockpick to peek the door, have mirrorgunner check for wires and rest of the area ahead, before you use your ram. Also, you obviously shouldn't be standing in front of the door. Instead, stand by the side of the doorway, and ram from there. mirrorgun : you can also poke the muzzle thru the crack of a peeked door, but even if you reach that sweet spot of making that possible, you can only get a PARTIAL view of the room ahead. You can also have your mirrorgun out, when standing by the end of a hallway that turns to an adjacent side (an L-shaped hall, for example) C2 : be careful of killing a civilian that's RIGHT NEXT to the doorway, instead of just stunning them. (having a simultaneous explosive breach from two entrances of a room at once is kinda cool though). Door wedge : unless you want to keep worrying about watching your own back, or having your last man constantly provide rear security, don't underestimate its usefulness. not only does it prevent flanks, but it also eliminates roaming, and a runaway suspect's opportunity to run thru the back door of a house, as a trap. Light vs Heavy Armor : they both still provide the same protection equally. heavy armor isn't any better than light. you can still get one-shotted to your center-mass, with heavy armor. you can still get headshotted with heavy armor. you obviously can still die by not checking for wires. heavy armor slows you down. i always slap on light armor, for a balance of both speed and protection. anti flash goggles : you still get flash-effects. just because your flash-effects lasts less, doesn't mean you're invincible to flashbangs in general. in general, this facewear is a little useful to not useful at all. ballistic facemask : you can still get one-shotted, even to your head-level.

I use c2 solely for locked doors that are mirror blocked. Don’t want to have to pick and peek it in a time sensitive scenario, but also don’t want to get blown up by a trap when kicking the door or using the ram.

Yeah the amount of times you get headshot by slightly peaking your head for visuals is abnormally high. You won't survive a rifle round but a single pistol/buckshot to the face will save your life.

0:35 Battering ram works for me on the side of the doorway. I open the doorway, someone else enters while I pull out my weapon. It's one of those instant door entry devices with unlimited uses and doesn't destroy the door.

Your take on the battering ram is just bad, you can literally stand to the side of the door and ram it and you won't get shot. It's way "cleaner" than the breaching shotgun because it always opens the door all the way and stuns people on the other side. Really good if you have time to mirror beforehand. The shotgun IMO is only better when you don't have time to sit and mirror stuff since you can blow doors open from afar without checking for traps, good for bomb or shooter missions. Door wedges are also really, really useful, especially for certain maps. Heavy use of door wedges keeps you from getting flanked and keeps people from running all around the map. I actually think they're more useful than C2 for most missions, since C2 will just blow people away and kill your score. Not a problem on Raid ofc. C2 is only a good way to get in if you're trying to kill someone, otherwise Ram/Breaching Shotgun are far better.

HEY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS!! I came here in case some video could mention the stuff, but no luck for a day... 1. Can A.I. use Battering Ram? 2. Will A.I. be more cautious if they themselves mirror under the door? 3. What is the difference between the basic lockpick and the ermmm what was it... lockpick gun? 4. Can the A.I. use the Breaching Shotgun to shoot an enemy? 5. Does the Breaching Shotgun and the C2 demoralize the enemy A.I. as much as the Battering Ram usage does? 6. Does the enemy get alerted by a door that partially opens? Either in front of their eyes or when they are not looking?

Door wedge is a must :D Always block all the doors I am not curently clearing. IE GasPump, wedge door to yard, stack up doors, clear with tear gas, wedge behind us, clear blind room on right, wedge doors on right and continue clearing from left, always wedge all doors thet arent cleared and I am moving from them.

ayyyyyyy Heavy Armor gang let's gooo! and yeah, in SWAT 4 the wedge actually has it's uses, especially on maps with flanks (like in the Subway map where guys with AKs can gun you down with 0 remorse if you let them flee) so i'm sure once RON is fully finished and fleshed out (including adding those 1980s-1990s looking SWAT dudes they showed in the concept art with hopefully 1970s SWAT dudes) then the wedge will have it's own uses, same with the gas mask.

a lot of stuff that was really useful in swat 4 has become completely useless is ready or not. The worst item in swat 4 was probably the NVGs and that's it. and even the NVGs in swat 4 could be pretty useful on saint Michael's medical centre and a few other maps with dark corners. Wedges were super useful in swat 4, you could use them to block a door that a suspect was trying to open so they couldn't flank you.

C2 can stun people also if it kills suspects no unauthorised use of force penalty. Shield if equipped and not holding can block bullet from the back. If holding a shield, you are immune to flash bang stinger and CS gas even without mask. NVG toggle on/off can remove the blurry effect cause by being damaged. Pepper spray I will rate it higher, but it definitely base on my playstyle. It is quite weak that has limited range, no reduce moral, need to spray the head to work. But you can aim at head level and hold the trigger on the doorway/corner while suspect charging you, this make me like 95% safe for defending myself. maybe you can do a gun list too

In defense of the battering ram, you should try to hit it as from the side as possible and step aside fast, so somebody else with a gun can enter. DON'T stay on the middle nor enter. You even could hit it while already moving sideways. And i know the reach of it isn't too much, so maybe you have to give it a couple of tries, but at least you don't alert the enemy first. Talking about the wedge, i didn't really use that much, but now that i think of it, maybe i should. In this game, the enemy is very kind of coming from behind you, from a door you didn't check, or you actually did check, but coming from somewhere else that was connected to it. So, it could be usefull to lock doors from behind you and avoid being ambushed. The less angles you have to watch and be aware of, the better.

batteringram is my main long, just hit from the side and then back up so ur teammates can enter, btw doorwedges are underated as fuck, u can have so much more focus on a sertain area of a map if you literally stop the enemies from getting to you.

That's the IR laser, a much more powerful laser that only works with NVGs on. I believe it's only available for the primary weapons, and the g19 for some reason.

"CS gas is OP" Also "gas mask has no use unless you plan to carry cs" So you put cs as S tier and label it the best deterrent equipment in the game, but then put its counterpart at c? Sure it's an f if you don't use cs gas. But it's an a or s if you do. And I've found in my runs it always makes the bigger rooms or rooms with weird alcoves more compliant than the other 2 grenades. I'm always using at least a couple cs grenades. I'd say the only time I wouldn't carry the gas mask is if you intend to let your AI team clear gassed rooms. Then you could wear antiflash or face shield and take point in rooms that get flashed.
