The miscuts that show another card (like the one showing the artist name for the card above) usually fetch a premium. Your card is basically bulk aside from the error, so i would guess it might catch $1-$2 from someone who is collecting it for the error alone. Common misprints for newer sets are pretty cheap, can occasionally get a few more bucks in auction but generally id only pay like $1 for that miscut.

@Ninja Named Bob i mean compaired to other commons. At $1 its worth 3 times most other commons. I'm just saying Its worth keeping set aside from other commons so you can sell it later to a miscut/error collector especially if you have several to sell at once it makes mailing them worth it.

You know, it's weird how much difference there is between booster box and set booster box in the USA. In Canada, the prices are actually very close: $10 more for the set booster box ($155 vs $165 CAD). Of course, a part of that is that we over-pay for the regular booster boxes...
@ToliG1233 жыл бұрын
I think part of the reason party decks aren't worth anything (and are generally bad) is because none of the payouts are worth it. The pieces are there, but the cards that actually reward you get for successfully going through the arduous process of constructing a party and maintaining it, truly isn't there. Set boosters should be simplified: a pack only needs to contain 6 or so cards. Sometimes there’s 1 rare, sometimes there’s 6. He 100% doesn't actually sell it. The booster box game goes by market value, so if he has cards worth 100 dollars market price, he gets another box. Seems like he could do this just by selling the cards, but no store is going to pay 100%, let alone even 70%, especially on 2-3 dollar cards. Unless he has a deal with his store worked out or they're somehow able to run on 0% profit margins, then there's no possibility he's paying for these boxes just by selling the cards except if he manages to sell them all individually to players himself, which just isn't feasible.

Glad to see someone opening these up. I preordered, and my LGS still hasn't gotten them in a month after release

Been subscribed to this channel just a couple of months to try ad win a booster box or something. As I've watched more and more of his videos I've really gotten to like this man's insights, values as a person, and insights into value (of cards). I'm happy to be here. Thanks Professor!

What a gamble. This is why I love your content prof. Really show the importance of why it's better to get singles.

For future reference, collectors of miscut cards basically care about those minor cards when they're cut badly enough to show part of the next card. That first one you got is probably worth a few bucks.

Thanks for clarifying your grade for the set boosters. I was left pretty confused at how high the grade was after watching the review.

I think the 1st box may have had a full art foil land for every type!😂🤘Very cool!

Here's a general rule when unwrapping set boosters: if you get the bauble, you win.

I would say if you're looking for monetary value, this was not the set. But as far as play value, landfall has definitely been 1 of the best mechanics to see play and was a good choice to bring back. It makes for great combos and has lower value cards see more play because the get better effects. If you pair landfall with mutate, ramp/draw can get very ridiculous but be super fun. Parcelbeast mutate onto a Kazandu Nectarpot with Fellidar Retreat on field? That's won me games. It's more about what you're looking for in each set but I'd say this was a really good set as far as playable value

Very strange Professor! Rudy just did a patron box opening today and opened 4 of the same List cards that you did. Gempalm Polluter, Man o War, Nezumi Graverobber, and Thought Vessel. Thought it was odd with such a large card pool to see

Rather than gamble, put your money into a Tolarian Community College patreon. It's a solid investment that I am very happy with.

generally speaking miscuts are valued more if there is text of another card visible on the card, and a whole lot more if it's foil. They don't have a set price but collectors will generally bid on a few. I like to grab the tokens and rares if possible. Sold what few cards I had though.

I thought the set boosters were super fun to open with all the cool arts and the list cards. I don't really plan on selling any of them I just like to crack a box of each set so I am glad they did something like this.

WOW I was not expecting that box toper, I was thinking for sure it was going to stay a $70 box.

That first box, I would have killed to have had that experience with mine - I ended up getting 4 nahiris as my mythics (ugh) and roughly 50 dollars value, didn't even get a gold stamped art card and that value is including the box topper (tar pit). I paid 165 shipped for my box, I'm utterly terrified of buying another.

Gambling is like Drinking. It should be regulated and self-regulated, so long as you understand what you’re getting yourself into, do as you like. Set Booster Boxes are for videos like this and channels like Arin Hansen’s Shuffle Master.
