Many years ago I use to beat depression by turning up at the airport and grabbing a cheap flight somewhere for a week (or two). This particular time I had broken up with a girlfriend and found myself with some hand luggage at the airport, I told the server that I wanted the next cheapest flight to somewhere hot . Unbeknown to me she has booked me on a flight to Norway (I thought I was headed south into the sun), imagine my surprise when all I could see was snow , snow and more snow. When the pilot said that we would be landing soon I assumed he meant that we had to clear the snow topped mountains before we flew over the sun parched fields - Erm no, - instead everyone got up and started getting dressed up in warm (very warm) clothing . I sat there with my T shirt and shorts on . We landed and as we came to the end of the runway my face was pushed up against the window , Snow, snow and more snow - Nooo We exited the plane and I was freezing , my one bag contained more shorts, swimwear, shirts and sunscreen . People looked at me as if I was mad , I did not have to show them I was mad by asking if I was in the Bahamas or not, it was obvious that this was no freak wether . I left the airport and managed to get a lift with a small group who took pity on me freezing my ‘balls’ off . I couldn’t understand what they said but I just wanted to jump into thier nice warm minibus. I ended up being dropped in a small town in the middle of nowhere , once again I was freezing and was actually scared for my life , I headed to the first place that had lights on and yippie a hot drink . The owner of the place took pity on me as all the other patrons took the mickey out of my dress. She ended up giving me a hot meal and a free room . At breakfast I explained to her and her husband that I had broken up with a longtime girlfriend and then jumped onto a flight which I thought was going to the Bahamas , that was why I was dressed as I was . They both rolled around the floor laughing as they watched me read the exterior thermometer. After that the surprise came , the local paper wanted to do a story about the “Mad Englishman” and they had me pose for some photos in my ‘loud’ shorts and T shirt as if I was at the beach . However even before the story was printed I found out just how kind the Norwegian People were . I had limited funds but that didn’t matter, I was kitted out with several sets of warm clothing and boots for free and was also given free food drink and lodgings . All I had to do was retell my story to anyone that wanted to hear it . Well I spent two weeks with the nicest people that I had ever met and even managed to somehow come home with more money than I left with . This turned out to be the best mistake that I ever made , I was use to just jetting off on my own and making friends but going to Norway was in a league of its own when it came to hospitality . Sadly I never managed to return to Norway (life got in the way), but now that I’ve got older and have more free time I might just persuade my wife to join me on a trip down memory lane (a very, very cold memory lane), note after my trip to Norway I never had a problem with depression again , my trip changed me for the better . So thanks to Norway and to the Norwegians that permanently cured my depression . I also thank You and your channel for making me remember/relive my time that I spent there . Take Care . R .

Leena, I see a lot of my own story in yours... I grew up in Germany with my twin sister and we had horses our whole lives. My mother LOVED Canada for it's open wilderness and S P A C E. The kind people and the way of life spoke to her Soul when she visited Western Canada in her mid 20's. When my sister and I were 14 years old, we happily welcomed the dream of a new life in Canada. So we moved! It felt like FREEDOM! ... we acquired some horses and my mom has a farm where they all live. Now it's my husband's and my dream to buy our own little farm so I can keep my horses there

She owned a small beautiful home with gardens in the woods. I told my husband, "I would love to live here. I wish it was ours." But it wasn't even available. 3 years later, my family and I were looking for a new home in the woods but we couldn't find one anywhere. We looked and looked for months. I just watched the video on TV while my mom was in the room too. Your video's are always so peaceful and hearing you talk about your dreams was so cool. You told it with so much passion! That, in combination with the peace you brought me, almost made me cry. I LOVE people following their dreams! I think it is so important! And then something spacial happend. I know my mom has the wish to move. Maybe also to the North, just like you (we are from The Netherlands). She also likes the idea of travaling. But she finds it very hard to take action on her dreams. And that makes me so so sad. So I always try to encourage her. And your video just made her realise she can also travel around for a bit to find the place where she wants to live. That way she can do both. I am so happy for her that it made her come a step closer to really make her dreams come true. And I wish for you the same! This was so inspiring. I'm almost done with my masters degree in Environmental Economics, and I'm finally allowing myself to make plans about the future and start immaginig what kind of life I want. And everytime I get lost in my fantasy world, I see a farmhouse in the mountains. I see myself renovating that house with my own hands, and I see a big vegetable greenhouse. I would also love to have a bit of an animal sanctuary going on, if work allows me this kind of commitment. I've never wanted kids of my own, but I would love to host educational weekends for kids to get in touch with the environment. I want to make the purchase before I'm 30 (I'm 26 now), and your video really motivated me.

It's interesting how we live in different places but still I feel connected to you, even more so when watching this video. Horses are the most magical creatures and interacting with them is so special, a kind of freedom and letting go that I don't often experience anymore. Thanks Leena, you reminded me! I try to come closer to my dream by making little babysteps towards the day that I will start a long distance walk through Europe with my dog for several years. Sometimes I give up that dream; there is covid, there is not enough money, I gain weight, I lose condition... but then there is a movie like yours, and the motivation comes back to work on the babysteps. Do not buy those nacho's, but put that money on your saving count, or go walking even though it rains, or go camping although it is 0 degrees, test the tent in rainy and cold conditions, train the dog to behave when meeting others in the forest, train the dog to follow when it is crowded, eat healthy, take care of that too nail that hurts, train to walk with 10 kilo's in your pack, try out water crossings in the winter, teach the dog to carry her own food, be mindful of that depression that is playing with you, take care of the mind, be gentle to yourself... Thank you so much for your movie. Keep taking babysteps girl!!

Beautiful video Leena! I have had my boy🐴 for 9 years now and he is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. It is a life-commitment of hard work and it was even the main reason I burned out a few years ago, but I would never change being a horseowner for the world. The amount of joy you get from them by far surpasses the times of having to slip around in the mud mucking out their pasture a late rainy november evening 😂 Nobody knows hard work and love like horse-people do!

Gänsehaut bei so vielen Stellen von diesem Video. Ich glaube ganz fest daran dass dein Pferd dich finden wird/ euch finden wird.🤗 Die Freiheiten ohne Pferd sind schön aber ich kann dieses Gefühl das etwas fehlt so gut nachvollziehen. 5 Jahre ohne und seit 1 Jahr wieder mit Pferd, man lernt es doch nochmal anders zu schätzen ein solches Wesen an seiner Seite zu haben. Liebe Leena, deine Videos sind wunderschön und voller Liebe zum Detail. Mein Fernweh nach Norwegen, in die verzauberte weiße Schneelandschaften, die Eisblumen in Fenstern und das Langlauf fahren. Diese sind nur Bruchteilvon dem was ich vermisse. Manchmal könnte ich einfach meine Sachen packen und abdüsen, wenn es möglich währe. Aber wie du sagtest sind Träumen auch gut zur Zielfokussierung. This is a very beautiful video! Thank you for sharing your dream with us. I sincerely hope it will come true. For future videos, I suggest: (1) lots of nature/landscape footage showing us how beautiful the world is, (2) video of you doing ordinary things, such as cleaning, cooking, caring for your home, etc, and (3) video of you two making your art, packing & shipping it to customers, etc. The best plan, in my opinion, would be to combine these things in every video...sort of as you did with the current video. So...nothing super special is necessary. I (and many other viewers I suspect) just enjoy getting a little peek into your lives and the area where you live. I'm attracted to your videos because you both seem like peaceful, kind, creative people, so just being yourselves and giving me a look into your lives is enough for me.

To think that in former times, the whole earth had such vast amounts of great, clean wildernesses, whereas now there are so many crowded, industrialized, polluted and destroyed areas.
