Just one thing about this video, and maybe you'll see this and think about it.... You didn't *HAVE* to choose family. You could have chosen fighting. But, you put your family's needs before your own desires. That is a man, a hero to a daughter who is too young to fully appreciate it. Your choice was the swing of a hammer on the steel that is your family. With that swing, you forge a relationship with your wife and daughter. You chose, you weren't forced to choose one or the other, but your choice will give your daughter the tempered strength to carry into the future.

as a gen-xer who's getting into boxing, it's not about whether *we* want you to get into the ring... do it first and foremost for yourself. time is fleeting, and if this is what you love to do, then do not, under any circumstances, let the world dictate to you "yes" or "no". i made that mistake, and while i have two wonderful sons, i wasted too much time in regaining myself, because the world around me at that time kept telling me "no". my life has changed in a way that i have the freedom to choose my own path now... something that is afforded you now. ...so from someone worn from years but my gloves are still shiny, to someone whose gloves are worn but years still shine, do what you love for as long as you still can... the world be damned. so, yes, i'd love to see a return to the ring... but only for as long as this is where your heart belongs, whether that's 5 days, or 50 years. ...maybe one day i'll be good enough to enter the ring for the first time, and take part in something i've discovered i really enjoy... the world be damned, as well.
