Hope you guys enjoy! These are beautiful tortoise that I’m super passionate about! Highlighting all 5 of my Radiated Tortoises and their natural beauty with no two individuals having identical designs! So individually unique that it has been said that Queen Victoria offered a major reward to anyone who was able to find two identical patterned ones. Something that to my knowledge nobody has ever done. Their colors can range anywhere from yellow or creams marked with black, to even blacks marked with yellow with a great variety and combination of dark/light rays! As these guys grow more and more of their beauty will rise! These tortoises are highly poached daily in their native habitat. So it is important to protect these animals and many more because of the important role they play in their native range . Conservation efforts like the ones I plan on for the future and that of others are really beneficial to the repopulation of these species and attaining a stable assurance colony here in captivity. It’s great to see these animals in the wild and that can only be done by protecting where they come from first. Madagascar is incredibly bio diverse in its flora and fauna , and these radiated tortoises live in fear of being wiped out on a daily basis ( with others as well) . Madagascar being a biodiversity hotspot means that it’s home to tons of incredible species. Madagascar is home to some of the most endangered wildlife on the planet, including some of the rarest Chelonian species like these Radiated Tortoises. With lots of Misfortune, Madagascar is being destroyed fast and if a drastic change doesn’t happen soon , the world will lose a global treasure of unique wildlife and plants. On top of habitat destruction , slash and burn farming , and other things. These tortoises face severe poaching , which includes smuggling for the illegal pet trade and consumption of Tortoise bushmeat really harming the survival of Madagascar’s endemic wildlife. On a positive note, super blessed with the ability to be able to work with these guys and continue to diversify natural occurring genetic bloodlines! Cheers to conservation!
