My dad told me that it was a good thing I was smart because I was too homely to ever get married . It was my 8th grade graduation and I was in a gown for the first time in my life. I thought I looked great . Clearly, he did not. My sister’s boyfriend was standing there. It was incredibly awkward for him and heartbreaking for me . He looked stunned by the comment and didn’t know what to do. My dad walked out and David gave me a hug and said I looked pretty . I know it was because if what my dad said , but it made me feel a little better .

@@jaceyproctor8925 thank you . I did find the most beautiful boy and we married. We were incredibly happy together for 22 years. He gave me four beautiful children. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with cancer at 44 . I missed him every day .

The drop waist/mermaid dresses look STUNNING on her! Plus size women can look great in mermaid dresses but you gotta have the right curves for it. As an inverted triangle myself it's A-line or ballgown for me.

I totally agree! We looked at a venue that was an outdoor castle and Sloan would've been PERFECT for that one. Diane is very modern and would be great at an art museum or gallery which was another one of our venue options!

So Bombshell Boutique takes your measurements and then they order the dress based on your largest measurement since you can tailor it in to your smallest one. Bridal sizing is usually different than what you would buy for ready to wear clothing so it's important to remember with bridal that the size on the tag does not matter - it's just about the dress fitting you the best!

I don’t know why plus size designers don’t make more wedding dresses with sleeves because most larger size women are very self conscious of their arms. A lot of these dresses could’ve had sleeves, or draped fabric at least. The only dress that did had heavy lace sleeves which just makes the arms look bigger whereas a chiffon fabric would’ve looked more flattering. The 3rd dress looked lovely & you could add some sheer fabric that matched the dress around the arms.

Not everyone who is plus size wants to cover their arms. I specifically did NOT want to cover my arms and therefore did not try on that many dresses with sleeves.

I didn’t mean to imply that ‘you’ should cover your arms, it was a general comment meant for plus size women watching that would like to in fact wear sleeves, so I was suggesting that it is possible to add fabric & chiffon would be best. Also a lot of plus size women do complain about there not being enough choices with sleeves so I assumed it was the case for you as well which was my mistake.
