As of this date. Currently i have my s8 to the highest screen quality and the KZbin app only lets me view in 1080p. I saw this video a while back in 1440p on the s8 and i can't anymore. Maybe KZbin removed that screen quality option for this phone? I also find that watching hdr videos aren't stable at 1080p. Is anyone else having this issue watching HDR content?

Actually, there is no real minimum online. However, 4K Blu-Ray disks with HDR10 have a minimum of 10 bit. Disks with Dolby Vision are 12-bit.

to add to the HDRC's reply, you'll OFTEN find, NOT ALWAYS, that HDR games are 8bit because the 4K60 4:4:4 mode which is possible with HDMI is 8-bit due to the maximum bandwidth of HDMI. You CAN have 4K60 that's higher than 8 bit, but not with 4:4:4 chroma at the same time, that's all. Such as some games using 4:2:0 instead. This is made very clear on the link below posted in the other reply by The HDR Channel,

M Henry HDR games don't work at 4:4:4. The display switches to YUV420 when HDR metadata is read, to accommodate the 10 bit wide color gamut. HDR games are 10 bit in HDR10 as well.

Looks great on my tcl 55s405. Reviews give it a meh rating on hdr peak brightness but to me it looks fantastic after calibration using the roku app. I'm not actually sure I would want it any brighter..

The HDR Channel it shows me a tag on the screen saying HDR, and I assume it does because it's the default player for HDR videos recorded by the phone, What I think it's that this could be an standard issue I heard that the HDR support for the s8 is very limited, Netflix doesn't play on HDR on s8 while it does on Note 8 and LG G6

The new HDR 10+ from Samsung is comparable to Dolby Vision in the sense that they both have dynamic HDR metadata which can change luminance levels scene by scene or even frame by frame. However, I think Dolby Vision is still slightly better since the video is 12-bit vs 10 but fir HDR 10+.

As I said before in a previous comment KZbin has disabled All 1440p Quality videos for mobile due to Performance reasons but it's still available and higher and devices like TVs PS4 pros and other stuff like PCS

Gil - 1440p was removed as an option for my lg g6 as well. While researching this issue I came across youtube vanced. Download and you will not regret. I can watch hdr videos at 1440p 60fps. Its super fantastic.
