We always wanted one, i did not know anyone that had one, cost was £500, or 600, and the games cost £100 to 200... In 1990, No way, the parents was getting that.. played them most of the classics in the arcade which was still good. 🕹️

Nunca tive o AES, mas pude apreciar todos lançamentos de SNK no Saturn com expansão de RAM de 95 a 98, uma experiência incrível também, pelo menos nos de luta.

I remember watching an episode of Bad Influence when I was a kid. Violet was asked a question about if she thought old game consoles would be valuable in the future. She said they wouldn't because they're electric devices that can break. She said the only one that she thinks will be valuable would be the Neo Geo.

I still say Wicked Gamer is one of THE BEST KZbinrs let alone Gaming KZbinrs . I wish I could think of my other fav guys name so I could sub to him again also since Google banned my KZbin account for no reason given I never had even uploaded a video on it in the over 10 years I had it the other guy I used to watch used to do his videos in his shed a lot of times he would play cool tunes from back in the day and was a turbo graphix fan if anyone knows his channel name let me know! Man the Neo Geo was my dream system! I couldn't afford it when it came out as I was beginning to study and work and my income was limited. The $600 system was one thing but the $150-$250 cartridges were the problem. And now that the system is not being made is even more expensive lol!😂 Instead of being cheaper!🤔 Anyway man I'm happy for you that you got your hands on a boxed Neo Geo.☝😃👆 Good review and cool video Wicked!👍

I think the reason the games were that expensive was because the cartridges had a lot of memory in them, a lot more than you would find in other systems at the time. Memory in those days was crazy expensive.

Congrats! I've had my aes only for a few years. The first thing I did was make the bios chip sockected and flashed unibios if you can solder that many pins you're in good shape 😅 the most expensive console I own next to the atari jaguar

I’ve had my NA & Japanese NeoGeo AES CIB consoles for quite a while plus a couple dozen authentic games. It’s an enjoyable gaming experience but I’ve said it in the 90’s and I’ll continue saying it today that the Genesis/MD & SNES have many games that rival the NeoGeo library and much higher quantities. Still NeoGeo AES is a wonderful experience especially having it physically and I try to play it yearly.

You would never see a Neo Geo console on the wild but a friend of mine like 10 years ago found an NG controller that cost him just a few bucks in local a bargain bin ....it was missing the ball but still a great find ! Your chances of not finding one are basically 99.8 %

I had one and had to sell all my consoles and games to buy it. I had Art Of Fighting it cost £175 new and King Of The Monsters pre-owned £75. Arcade cartridges. I didn't keep it long it was too expensive to use 😢

I noticed it didn't have the memory card with it. Back in 1992 got that boxed with 8 games along with the memory card $500 it was in mint condition. Sadly due to unexpected bills had to sell it in 1993. You're right they are very pricey now. I had the USA version. Good times!

I was into 2D fighters since i was little and when i saw this system i thought I had died cause nothing came close to the graphics but my heart did sink(SNK)...lol srry had too), cause of the prices. So I envy you, and im happy you got something most all of us wanted for years and never could get. I will never forget playing Samurai Showdown in Aladdins Castle and being so excited, and then playing King of Fighters and playing as Iori.... And the music...soooooo good!Those arnt just "double games" they are modded, with new things either todo like new moves or new backgrounds OR like all backfrounds and characters unlocked and all characters in the game and not just the standard. :)

Oh no, down the Neo Geo rabbit hole he went! I like the Neo Geo pad as well, FYI the PDP Versus fighting pad is a cool USB clicky pad that works on PC and Retro Pie. The PS3 versions are super cheap, you just need to clean off the sticky rubber coating off the back of them. But anyways it's the only other clicky pad I've been able to find.

@@hotcoffeebreath it's pretty cool, the replica looks exactly like the original Neo Geo AES console, but it does not play using original AES carts, the console opens up and inside comes with LCD handheld to play the games, the games are in sd cards, you can the games on the LCD handheld or use the AES arcade sticks that come with it.

Buttons on the standard AES stick are definitely not membrane 😎👍 Even the start and select are micro switched. Been selling off some of my hoards of other games for other systems to buy more Neo Geo games lately. Never regretted owning or buying a Neo Geo AES and never been tempted to sell it. Having recently been given the ability to play Neo Geo CD games on the AES has brought it back to life along with upscalers and new gadgets like the 32kb memory cards. You don’t have to be a bank robber to buy games for it either. Just have to realize how much people are paying already for digital downloads, absolutely nothing physical. Imagine if you could turn your entire digital investment into Neo Geo hardware instead pound for pound, Dollar for Dollar, would you do it? How much would you have to spend?

if you can't find or afford a Neo Geo AES, maybe get a Neo Geo X, it's the next best thing close to he real thing if you ask me, it's pretty neat, but it came out a few years ago, maybe a decade ago now, and i just check they go up in prices but still not very expensive.

With how limited the console is the price of the games it is still out of the reach of many people so for many people emulation is the best option for people who can't afford the console and games. I know it doesn't give you the real experience and some games may suffer from certain things with emulation but most people that emulate will over look the flaws.

Toevallig vandaag met de Neo Geo AES gespeeld op mij grote Panasonic 4K TV via de originele Composiet mono kabel. Die van mij verkeerd in nieuwstaat en is compleet met de doos. Speel altijd de Metal Slug serie via de Super MVS Converter 2. En heb een originele US DOGTAG AES spel van Last Resort. Ben een grote fan van R-Type. Moet eigenlijk nog een tweede Neo Geo AES Arcade Stick ervoor vinden om met ze tweeën te kunnen spelen. Voor de rest vind ik de AES spellen behoorlijk duur en je weet nooit of ze überhaupt echt zijn. Vandaar dat ik een Converter erop gebruikt. Moest ooit de originele AES spel verkopen van Metal Slug 3. Hopelijk kom ik het nog ergens tegen voor de MVS. Is de enige Neo Geo spel, die ik nog erbij wilt hebben. Voor de rest heb ik de meeste al gehad qua AES en MVS spellen. Vind trouwens de MVS Full Kits mooier gedaan, dan de AES variant ervan. Gebruik ook de bijpassende verlengkabels van de AES Arcade Stick. Je staat versteld hoe strak beeld het hebt met een simpele Composiet kabel en mono klinkt behoorlijk hard. Voor mij gevoel is de Neo Geo AES de beste console, die je kan wensen. Alleen het blijft een dure console om niet te spreken over de AES spellen. 9 van de 10 keer speel je toch met Metal Slug. Er zijn ook mooie hardcover boeken voor de Neo Geo gemaakt wat ook de moeite waard is.

Multicart with most of the games cost the same as 1 of the cheapest games. The console sadly is very expensive and some of the official games ultra expensive. Terraonion NeoSD Pro preorders are opening again soon, this is expensive too but is the only cart you will ever need.

I never liked the home version of the Neo Geo,the games are censored and worst of all limited credits,a dumbass idea from SNK, you can hack the AES system with the unibios so you can play the arcade version of the system,I have Xenocrisis on PC, watch out for Final Vendetta for the Neo Geo.

Just get a memory card and you can save the game at any point and the credits don't matter anymore at all. Also they are not censored
