REAL CONSISTENT | Episode #6 | Legion of Phyrexia

We are playing Legions of Phyrexia in Magic the Gathering Arena today for the 2024 Starter Deck series that we are doing. This is a Phyrexia deck that has a lot of cards that do two for one things when the enter the battlefield.
At first, I was wondering if this deck had the consistency to be good enough to grind daily wins, but we beat some of the best decks in the format in today's video.
To do this, we had to play a bit unorthodox, but this deck does seem to get the job done!!
Upgrades at the end of the video, or you could be lazy and download the list from here (as said, I am not a fan of Alchemy, so I do not know if this strategy would work in Alchemy).

At 21:31 , I feel your pain. How difficult would it be for WOTC to introduce a popup if you have used up one rope that says "click on this within 10 sec if you are still here, or you forfeit the game". People sometimes rage quit and you have to wait through 3 ropes until you win.

Had this so many times recently. It's one thing if you are new or play a deck for the first few times and need more time to consider your next turn. That's not a problem. But watching them do absolutely nothing (not even playing a single land or creature when they have like 5+ cards in their hand) and having to wait because they got tilted when you used ONE removal spell is just annoying. Especially when you just want to do your daylies (like using a number of spells of a color to get xp and gold) real quick and they don't let you play those spells.

This is a really difficult deck to play but once i understood how to play this deck, it is a lot of fun and easy to swarm my opponents with tokens and over power.

Yeah, I really like this one, lol. It is slow, but strong once the game starts rolling!

21:06 - Keep in mind this is STARTER deck duels, so the exact place for people to learn the very basics of the game, along with the basics / cards of the decks they're playing. If not here, where should we go, specially if we wanna receive free starter decks to build on? Tutorial --> Color Challenge --> Sparky Challenge --> Starter deck duels.. that's the advised route, isn't it? EDIT: I don't think they necessarily tilted and stalled the game / loss on purpose. Might be them reading and trying to understand the cards, maybe not even in their native language, and when they noticed the band it was too late. Happened to me before, and i only played 2 days by now. Sorry if i made anyone wait, though [also only happened once, will get disconnect only if it happens 2 times?]

I went from bronze to plat with this starter deck with a winrate of 75%. It's really good

this deck is really cool. A little off-topic, as a historic player do you think the historic bundle being sold in the shop right now is any good or a waste of currency ? I only play standard and am considering moving to Historic because of how stagnate Standard is right now.

Yeah, if you copy the deck, you can paste the deck on card kingdom and buy all the cards at once!!

No. You as long as ypu get daily wins (regardless of deck) you will collect cards.

My opponent went into the negatives with health, and still won. Any ideas why that would happen? I was playing against this deck

It might have something to do with lifelink.

When you attack and they block with a creature with lifelink, they resolve lifelink gain before they lose from damage... arena makes it seem like the damage is first, and then lifelink, but these happen simultaneously.

Ouch that hurts... all of these decks are a bit iffy. It does happen. One of the keys to winning with this one is getting to the midrange, lol. Starts slow and the playlines are a bit awkward!

Maybe bad luck. That's certainly possible. I had the same with the black green one, but after understanding the strategy better it has become one of the most consistant decks for me. White / black is slow. Don't overextend too early and try not to loose your creatures too early. It plays quite defensive until you got a good army assembled. The deck is a bit slow at army building but once you have your spells that give everything +1/+1 and vigilance (+ a slight advantage value wise) the deck becomes nearly unstoppable in the starter deck mode. The deck is weak early on but the late game potential of this one is likely among the best of the starter decks.

I dunno every deck including the white/green I win at least once within 3-5 games but this one.... still haven't won a single match played around 25 games with it so far I just don't get it. No matter what I do the opponent just walks over me. hell I don't think I've gotten even 3 players below 12 health lol
