2 fun facts: 1- When I was young I had Strawberry Shortcake and Lemon Meringue dolls, the first smelled like strawberries and the second like lemon. I loved them so much. 2- I also had a Strawberry Shortcake cards game which came with real baking and other sweets recipes. I still have the recipes. This video took me down memory lane. Love it so much!

The original Strawberry shortcake used to annoy the Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak with her excessive "berry talk" Also, those little strawberries are called "Berrykins" They are somewhat of a newer generational type thing. I remember seeing them in the early 2000's when my friend had her daughter. My daughter wasn't born until 2014 and by then Strawberry shortcake had gone mostly digital and I wasn't a huge fan. Of course, she hates my original show 😂 "It just looks old, kind of like you" I will add, anytime these games require to have you sign up for a paid subscription, you should be getting the toy or jewelry or food, whatever you made 😅 Atleast one a month!

Yes you can use water, the Times for the baking is probably wrong for real life, but depending on the type of cake the longer it cooks for. Did you know in some chocolate cakes, they use mayonnaise and others that use tomato soup.

Maybe I'm weird, but one thing I always look for in cooking games is if they have actual recipes I can try at home. So far I haven't found any 😅 Well aside from 2 Nintendo DS games (Personal Trainer Cooking, and American's Test Kitchen Let's Get Cooking) But I don't really consider those "games", they're basically a digital recipe book

I bought this game for my daughter a few years ago and it was about $10 for the whole game. She has limited-speaking autism so she appreciates the simple instructions, even though I had to teach her how to tilt the screen. In the version she had you could create whatever you wanted as well. Not sure when they added a subscription, but you used to be able to just purchase it outright. I grew up in the 80s so this show was a big part of my childhood. Thanks for the video, Jackie!

Enjoyed the video, but I'm not sure those recipes will work in real life. The ingredient ratios seemed off to me. No cake I ever baked had more sugar than flour, and in fact, too much sugar can sink a cake in the middle.

That's what I was thinking too, until I saw "3eggs, separated". This, to me, implies a meringue. In which case, the sugar would be separated to be poured in to the eggwhite mixture. But I'm confused because it also uses quite a bit of butter which would make it denser.

@@MikuruChan123 True, if part of the sugar was for the egg whites then the first recipe makes more sense, but the second recipe has the same odd ratios and the amount of liquid used would make for a very runny batter. Would be interesting to try and see the results though.

I love to bake and while I don't scale measure my ingredients, I'm curious how you would measure 250 mL of flour when mL is a wet measure? Usually dry scale measure is grams or ounces....I'm confused......

anyone else confused why the recipes in the game where only using ml as measurements? (except for butter that was in grams for some reason lol) is this how it's done internationally? idk... also you should weigh your flour instead of using normal measurements because flour is so fine that the only way to know if you have the right amount is by weight. and i have never seen a cake recipe that calls for that much sugar compared to the other ingredients. even if the cake baked normally i think it would just be way to sweet. i could go on forever about this forever but i'll stop now...
