I don't understand why Discord can't fix its client. Isn't it literally just an Electron app with some extra tweaks? I've used Discord since 2017 and it's one of the reasons I still dualboot 😐

I never had this issue on linux. Just don't use crappy wayland and the problem is solved

This app is very buggy, i tried on x and wayland. it takes a lot of computer' resources and often crashes. you cant use vencord for example to stream 1080p, only 720. but this is really the only working way to stream to discord with audio

Yep, but you can just have two clients installed, and only use this one when you need to have audio.

i used this before and I heard that the video fps cuts a bit, but then again my friend who was on discord also shared the screen and I saw the lag too, so it might be a discord issue. But I had switched back to windows just because of this. Might switch back to Linux and try this out once again.

It's not too risky, but unless you contact discord support yourself, the chances are minimal. Also, use "Vesktop", it is better and has more features.

I have a problem, when I select video and audio settings, and click "start stream" nothing happens But, im running the spp on terminal, so... I see that the terminal sends me many fast messages, all of which are the same message, saying: [userscrept] Did not find 'discord-screenaudio-virtmic' , trying again in 100ms I'm novice Linux user... can u help me?

I don't have a steam deck, but I think it should. Some changes to discords website broke it a couple of days ago anyway, so I'm not sure.

It does, but because the steam deck uses x11 by default, you can only do full desktop screen share. I've found that the stream tends to freeze after a bit so you'll have to refresh it every 10 to 15 minutes, which is pretty annoying.

The amount of problems with linux that pile up, big and small, due to both app developers and distro devs is astounding (zorin (and maybe ubuntu?) are using pulseaudio btw)

I have never installed any discord mods other than the beautiful-discord patch, but if you can download a mod with a link, you can just use one of the nix fetchers, and symlink them into your home directory. I'm also not sure how discord mod loaders work.

@@vimjoyer openasar replaces Discord's original app.asar, and repugged has a installer, I'm not sure which files it messes with, but I'm pretty sure it changes the ones that would be on the nix store, I don't think changing them directly is a good idea
