Thanks for putting together. I should mention though that F8 is The sharpest aperture to use with a 2.8 lens. Also you can get a cheap wired remote online that should save you from having to keep contorting around the camera and save yourself waiting three seconds every picture. Also if it has a Wi-Fi and wireless app you can frame your shots on a nice large tablet or laptop screen instead of tiny built in monitor.

Great information. How do you use the polarizing filter? Do you leave it on for every shot or just when needed? Do you have to change any of the camera settings when using the filter?

Hey glen! Yes, I pretty much leave it on through the whole shoot. Helps with wood floors, reflections, and deeper blue skies. Don’t really have to change any settings, you’ll notice when you put it on your lens, the shot will look a little darker so you just have to adjust for that. Have you never had a paying job in photography before? I’m asking because if you have done other paid jobs in photography then taking RE listing pics is about as easy as it gets. Only advice is make sure you have insurance if you are in homes that people live in. That part is very important

Great vid...thanks. How do you deal with mixed lighting and white balance?

Thanks so much! One trick is to get your white balance as even as possible while shooting, and tweak it in editing. I also reduce the saturation of yellows in editing a lot when the home has a lot of tungsten lighting in it. Also adding off camera flash to get better consistent colors helps too. Question: I usually drastically reduce the photo file sizes and therefore resolution as requested by real estate agent clients to accommodate requirements for mls listings. Hey! Glad you found the video helpful! So for MLS export settings, I only reduce them by making them max 10MB and under, plus high on sharpening. I don’t resize any edges, and that’s worked fine for me and my client for years! :) thanks for watching!

@@og3139 Good point given that images are only for web display rather than print. I have a 24mpx DSLR and Zillow recommended specs are 2048 x 1536 (about the same for MLS) so that usually naturally brings file sizes to the 3MB range.

do you have a system for batch processing all your HDR merges at once, with a common setting? or do you need to do them one at a time?

Yup! So once all the photos are in LR, I click Stacking - Auto Stacking Based on time (like 2-3 sec) basically it’s going to auto merge all photos shot within a few seconds of each other. Then, I select all the HDR stacked images, and merge at once. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
