Believe it or not, I was at Panda Inn at Pasadena,CA. A man asked for a menu. I instantly realized it was William Atherton. I handed him a menu. He said "Thank you young man." I replied as he walked away"Your welcome Dr. Hathaway!" He turned and smiled. True story.

I've been looking for this for decades. Literally. I tried to find it on vinyl in the late 80's with no luck. This is gold. Thanks so much for posting this. I can finally add it to my Real Genius soundtrack! I'd love to be able to find some of the instrumental tracks from the movie.

The original film score tapes been lost in the film archives of Tri Star for ages now owned by Sony. They never were public copies made of any kind. No Cassette, No CD, No Mp3. Thomas Newman had kept some original papers he composed from the film but even he never had his own full copy. I doubt hes interested on Re-recording them again.

That montage was scored by Thomas Newman, unfortunately the score was never published, Years of searching its concluded to me that the Master recording is missing, no copies made and Newman himself has no idea where it is.
