Atulji sorry to inform you, that's not the highest kW rated charger in the country. That record goes to "incheon Kia" dealership located in Kochi, Kerala. That beast charger delivers 240kW!. In kerala there are many govt chargers that output 120kW.

Excited about the speed in which it charges, hopefully solid state battery becomes a reality and becomes affordable to be used in entry and mid variant EVs

Does ev6 require slow ac charging to balance cells like in TATA and MG?
@Dqtube
@Dqtube Жыл бұрын
You can charge on DC only if you want, but there's no point going over 90% unless you're planning a long trip as it gets really slow after that point.

For all EVs, it is recommended to do AC charging after every 4 DC charging sessions. That way your EV battery health will be in good shape

To be honest, I don't understand why Kia doesn't install at least 250kW chargers near the dealership, since the car itself has a charging peak of 240kW. Try asking kia representatives. Or is the specification of the car for the Indian market somehow "crippled" ? Thanks

The fixed charges to be paid for a 250kw would be in lakhs . Which dealership would be willing to take that burden?
@Dqtube
@Dqtube Жыл бұрын
@@regularjoe9032 I don't know Indian market, so I'm just asking what is the reason for this solution. A charging point is an investment for the future. After cars that can charge more than 200kW have appeared on the market, most of the newly installed DC chargers in Europe are in the 300kW+ category. There are many different chargers, some of which have a shared grid connection, meaning that if two vehicles are charging, the peak power of the station is divided. The fee to the grid operator is therefore the same. Another option is chargers with a battery that is used not only for the cars but also as a buffer for the grid. The owner of the charging station can also make a profit by selling the energy from the battery back to the grid if there is demand. Third option is chargers with multiple power sources, mainly a combination of grid + solar, but there are a few that also combine with wind. Energy that is not used for cars is sold to the grid. So if I understand you correctly, if they use chargers with higher power, they have to pay a higher fee to the grid operator ? Or to whom will the extra money go? Is the HW charging capable of delivering more power and is only limited by this(money) because every new EV from Kia/Hyundai mid and higher class will be built on this platform which is already +200kW ready. That's why it's weird to me.

There is a 240 kw charger at Kia Kochi. The initial usage of these chargers will be very less due to Kia EV6 sales numbers (300 I think). As more EVs get 200kw charging and more EVs are sold, then both dealerships and Charging Networks will automatically install the 200 kw chargers

@@nujjigram It's simple, don't just think of the problem as a one car problem. Let's do simple math ;) The KIA EV6 has a peak power figure of 240 kW in the 10-50% , which means it can charge ~240 km of city range in 8 minutes on a +250 kW charger. If the charging is well designed, it can deliver 7 charging sessions per hour in this way. On the other hand, on a 150kW charger the car is limited, so for the same range it takes 13 minutes to charge. So the same place can only serve 4 cars per hour. On a 100kW charger it's only 3 cars per hour etc… Let's think a bit ahead and not repeat the mistakes made in the US and Europe where there are queues for charging stations in some places.

Nothing gets me excited than the thought of Teslas in India. No one is giving shit about the charging network, about trip planner, about software. Only Tesla can address these and excel at all these. Someday they will be here..! 😊

Average India earns 5-6 lakhs per year, 15 lakhs is the upper limit for middle class Indians. If you are rich you can even afford Tesla, there is no point discussing about 1% creamy layer rich people. I am hoping Tata can improve their battery architecture to support at least 100kW charging speeds. We are literally 10 years behind in EV technology. People are using Nissan leaf since 2012 which accepts 50kW peak charging speeds

Sorry sir. But absolutely no CBU car is or can he value for money. It might be affordable for you. But don’t say it’s value for money 😂😂 All this shows is. When TATA makes its avinya or curvv with a large battery. Which will me made in India. That will be value for money and affordable to more people. I’m hoping TATA brings a 70-80kWh crossover like this at 35-40L
