@xXsantino07Xx Yet all the top greats in football enjoy big success with their national team.Pele, Maradona, Crueff, Zidane- the undisputed four greatest footballers of all time have done great things with their national teams;all ranging from 60s to 2000s.I can't see the logic in your comment.Messi is the best player right now but if he wants to be considered in the same league as Maradona, Pele, Zidane 20 years from now,he'd have to win a world cup or at least take Argentina to final of WC.

@xXsantino07Xx a club plays football as a team for long time while national teams meet once or twice in a year. if top national teams have enough time together they can destroy any top clubs in their respective countries.

@xXsantino07Xx Gerard and Roony are crap. Ozil might come in kaka's place, which was never the position Mourinho was going to play Khedira or Lass. SO Khedira's addition does not harm any attacking mid position.

And why isn't Morinho pushing Madrid to buy Coentrao?! Madrid has no good left back.

@xXsantino07Xx this should be the last time i am writing to your comments. I am fed up replying to some illogical ideas. A strong club buys great players to make itself proud. A national team makes its players proud by giving them the chance to play in its squad. There is a huge difference. A Brazil would be Brazil without a Kaka. Argentina would still be a world champion without a Maradona.

@xXsantino07Xx Alonso and Lass are not a "great" duo. They haven't been one of the best 5 holding midfield pairs in world club football in recent times and that is according to Real Madrid standard disappointing. Surely They needed a better holding mid than Lass to give Alonso company and now hopefully we will see better result. Khedira is a wonderful addition. All Madrid needs now is to replace kaka with Oezil in the central midfield. Oh and also a central defender is badly needed for Madrid.

@xXsantino07Xx yes I would pick Khedira over Gerrard. I have followed Gerrard's game closely over a decade and I know Gerrard is highly overrated. Zidane was the best midfielder but not everything he says or believes or does has to be the right thing.

@xXsantino07Xx Ronaldinho made his name by shining in a world cup winning Brazil team. His fall came in club level. Ronaldo has won one world footballer of the year title. I can name you player who won the same award and faded in history because they achieved almost nothing with their national squad. The ultimate prize in a footballer's showcase is still the world cup. "doesn't mean crap footballers" does not mean they are the best around. Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho are not ur average Gerrard.

@xXsantino07Xx you've problem in football fundamental.your understanding of the game is messed up. I would have a Khedira than a Gerrard in my team. And so would Mourinho. There have national teams who can destroy the current Barcelona or any other top club level team. Even the Spain national team is better than Barcelona or Madrid. For weak countries u might be right but for traditional football countries, national squads are usually stronger than their top clubs. exception:England.

@xXsantino07Xx you must be the only one to know all about football!!! that's why you are comparing an overrated veteran player in Gerrard who has yet to discover his true position in his national team and has achieved nothing for his national team with a 22 yrs old Khedira who captained his country U21 Euro glory and helped his country earn third place finish in a world cup by replacing their injured captain and doing all these within one year span! i am wasting my time on you.
