Real Madrid have now clinched La Liga with 4 games to spare thanks to Barcelona’s loss against Girona today. For me, this title win was a significant moment for them and they should be appreciated for the way in which they won La Liga and overall have been brilliant this season too. At the start of the season, Real Madrid were in a difficult situation. Why, because they just lost Karim Benzema without properly replacing him and they had to go the whole season without an elite striker and 2 of their key players at the back tore their ACL. We thought that it put them at a disadvantage when it came to competing for trophies in multiple competitions. Last season was disappointing by their own standards due to the fact that Barcelona won the league and Manchester City the eventual winners, beat them in the Champions League semifinals and they were in need of a squad rejuvenation and they had to strengthen big time last summer. Fast forward to May and Real Madrid are now La Liga champions and who can say that they didn’t deserve it. They’ve been by far the best team in Spain they’ve won the league by dominating and finding ways to win games no matter how poorly they played and that’s the mentality of a title winning team. They’ve just gotten the job done and have managed to scrape away results with late game winning goals and they always come back from behind. They’ve lost just 2 games in all competitions and haven’t lost a game in La Liga since September and that was over 8 months ago. A reminder that they’ve had a makeshift defense multiple injuries and lacked a proper striker and not only have they won the league, they’ll probably win the Champions League again this season. These guys are so dangerous. They’re a strong team on paper and it’s true that you need depth, but other teams can’t use excuses for not winning games/trophies especially when they won the league without a prolific goalscorer and people say that you need a “20 goals a season” player in order to win trophies. Whether you’re in a title race, relegation battle or fighting for European football, you have to find solutions went cope with the challenges and the resources you have at your disposal, Real Madrid have done that because they’re well coached and have very good players as well. Their success has been down to Ancelotti’s tactical adaptability and nous. And to think that after they win the Champions League, Kylian Mbappe Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham will be on the same team and they’re going to get even stronger with a healthy squad, I could see Real Madrid dominating La Liga for the years come and who’ll stop them from winning more champions leagues. The future is bright for them and they’re gonna be unstoppable.
