This shit just happened to me today. Was on a public forum. Said something that was vaguely interpreted as “transphobic.” Couple days later I got a message from a moderator saying I was temporarily banned. They said “Transphobic post. Happy pride month!” I responded “Happy men’s mental health awareness month!” Next day got a message saying I was permanently banned from the forum for harassment. Tried to appeal but I wasn’t able to - completely silenced. These people have snaked their way into positions of power and now we have to bend the knee or risk being erased. It’s like we’re living in the book 1984 for real.

I work in aviation and about a year and a half ago we had a huhe briefing about referring to the cockpit as the flight deck. There were even some indirect comments from upper management about potential punishments for those who have a hard time "complying". It was so ridiculous that even the women at the meeting thought it was absurd.

A cockpit and a flight deck are not the same thing. The terms refer to the area space and the size of the aircraft. A jetliner has a flight deck since they tend to have a flight crew (pilot, copilot, engineer, attendants, etc.), where a small plane or single seat/two seat aircraft has a cockpit (think solo pilot, pilot and a gunner, or a pilot and a RIO)
