Yeah trying to escape is legal in itself but it's pretty hard to do so without damaging anything or hurting anyone, so additional time is usually added.

It is. You can be tried for crimes related to the escape though. However, most escapes are made by prisoners on temporary release who simply dont return. but even then, once apprehended, it will have somewhat of a consequence regarding future temporary releases or "an early release due to good behaviour/ social prognosis"

In Greece, there was a convict, Vassilis Palaiokostas, who escaped multiple times from custody, two of those times from the same prison, in the exact same way. Now it’s been more than ten years and they still haven’t caught him. He even had a book published in those years.

Maybe better would just be try not to get caught, either they get in an external team to do the chasing or they split the sidemen into two teams, maybe put like a two or three day limit on it though so after that they just win. Would be interesting to see it both with a professional team chasing, like ex army or police and with a more celebrity team chasing, just to see what the differences would be, because the celebrities could put out a tweet or something asking if anyone has seen the sidemen. Another good idea might be to recreate what storror did, with the manhunt around the UK.

Sidemen on the run would be an amazing video. Whoever coordinates the video can hire people as trackers to chase down each of the Sidemen to see how far they can get away from the prison in 24 hours. Plus they can restrict it to no aeroplanes with the pretense of the authorities on the lookout for the criminals at the airports (but allow the trackers to use any transport they want). This prevents them from going to the other side of the world but they can still get pretty far into Europe. The trackers would be using social media etc. The parkour group, Storror did something like this which was a lot of fun to see

regarding the video sidemen idea for prison break at around 3:46: for a video idea, you could research a dutch youtube channel called "stuk TV" and watch their "jachtseizoen" videos. its basically a famous dutch celeb etc has to evade them for x time whilst they can periodically track them (every 10 minutes) and the "escapee" can do whatever he wants to escape them, call friends with a payphone or use fans/random people for their car or to use them as a proxy for social media to help them etc. its a real good idea for a series (if the prep is right equipment wise)

Josh's idea is good. Make the sidemen run as far away as possible with like $10-$100. While they are on the run , Make them complete some challenges like taking a pic of something which might vaguely give a clue to their location. If they are unable to complete the challenges, their exact gps locations get sent to the seeker.

The sidemen should do a Hunted video - they are placed in random places around a certain area, with only a map to discover where they are. They have to make their way back to homebase, but there is a group of hunters trying to catch them - without GPS or anything, just searching streets nearby the homebase and where they were dropped off - they'll end up going through random farms and stuff. The hunters can be beta squad or something.... sick idea for a vid

I dont know whats it like in the US but in UK you dont get higher punishments if you escape because humans are driven to escape if captured, its in our nature. Its the same in many other European countries like sweden and norway

There is an awesome danish show called "Jaget vildt", where danish celebrities in pairs of 2 have to escape detectives. They only have a limit amount of money and anytime they go to an ATM to take money out the detectives get their location. They have to escape for 1 week and then meet up at a given destination..
