So happy I found you!! I have some crystals with bead holes that I didn’t want to use in any of the bracelets I’ve made so now I know what to do with them. Oh, these amethyst chunks are from a bead strand. BUT if you bring tge glue up over the top enough that there's a physical hold, you don't need a hole. Think of a ring...there's either prongs, or a round bezel folded slightly iver to keep in the stone. Do the same with the hot glue.

I love your work and I am going to try and do these for my sons to keep their spirits up while we social distance! Your videos are clear and you explain your decisions thank you! What sealent would you recommend? Does the sealent change depending on whether you use spray paint or the black glue?
@magicalcuriosities70624 жыл бұрын
thank you! i'm so glad you appreciate the details. I can be a little wordy for some ppl sometimes. haha. I'm currently on a quest to figure out the very best primer and sealer. But so far I am really loving Mr Super Clear (matte) as a sealer. it's pricier though and only online. I haven't encountered any issues with matte spray paints meant for plastics like Krylon. Just do think coats and let dry for a long time before coating again. one heavy coat just mucks things up. I have also used nail polish, but it doesn't go on very easily or quickly. and i dont know the long term effects. I always use a matt primer regardless of using the black glue too. just as a primer to keep the gold on well. i do think spray paints are better if used correctly, They actually kind of melt the plastic a tiny bit making it litterally bond with it. but not all act the same and theres little info out there about hot glue painting. they also take longer to dry and obviously can't be dry brushed like acrylic.

What about other color glue sticks? Wouldn't any color work?
@magicalcuriosities70623 жыл бұрын
yes. Black is a really good base coat for metallic colors to really pop. I still do a matte base coat, its just nice to start with a good base color glue too. You can certainly use any color you like. I generally just use black and white automotive hot glue anymore. the softer craft types just don't take paint that well. The exception is mini glue sticks for detail work.
