You've got to be shitting me. There's absolutely no eq setting that can get the blackshark to compete with a $140 Sennheiser hd560S headphones, $179 EPOS H6 Pro closeback headset, or a $109 Sennheiser PC38X headset. At $50, the turtle beach recon 500 decimates these in tonality, imaging, and sound separation. Blackshark v2 is a bass bloated mess, and not ideal for competitive shooters, or gaming in general.

@@808jspekeg6 I'm being charitable to $50 gaming headsets that are more available than in some countries than the options you mentioned. Plus, EQ changes things quite a bit. Never said it'd be the same as the options you mentioned...just that there are a lot of more expensive headsets out there that...are pointless. See the pinned comment.

Not worth it. I've got a ton of software to fix audio. I've got my own studio for making music. I own several studio headphones and microphones. The audio quality on these is absolutely horrible. It's missing so many frequencies and makes the sound like muffled.

The soft thing is a wind muff and pop filter basically ..so your breathing doesn't get picked up. The mic quality sample is still very indicative of what you'll experience.

I might get this headset brother, i was considering this or the logitech g435 which is pushing it in my pricing range, but this sounds competent specially for gaming.

This is my long term user review of the Razer Blackshark V2 X I've used this headset for about a year and a half now. The sound is muddy garbage TBH. You could try to save it with EQ, but the same can be said to pretty much every headphone out there. To my surprise, it is supported in Sonarworks, which is probably the best EQ profile available for it. Imaging was meh IMO, useable but nothing special, YMMV. Soundstage is tiny and feels very in your head. It does have a comfortable fit, but it will heat up your ears especially in the summer, just like most closed back headphones. The earpads tend to get disgusting and smelly because of it, I also happen to live in a hot environment. Passive isolation is good. The mic sounds great as a headset mic, mine came with a pop/wind filter. The mic is not detachable, and will always feel kinda in your face. The cable is also undetachable, be careful with your stuff, and you should be good. The volume knob is a variable resistance, all variable resistances eventually misbehave, it's only a matter of time. My unit did not take long before I was having left/right balance issues because of the volume knob. My attempt at cleaning it was rather useless. I would much rather have either a digital volume knob that changes the sound in windows, or nothing at all. I never used the mute button really, I prefer having a keyboard macro for that sort of thing, much faster than pressing a physical button. The two rod design on each side is flexible which makes the headset more comfortable, but it's extremely annoying to get all sides to align perfectly, resulting in a slightly different fit every time you wear the headset, this will affect the sound and imaging. The 7.1 software that comes with it makes the sound even more bassy and muddy, it can be fun for some story games, but I just don't use it for competitive games. I prefer Dolby Access, Windows Sonic, or Waves NX(from HeSuVi) for that matter, YMMV. If you only have $50, ignore all headphones/headsets, you can do so much better in the IEM world. Don't bother with headphones if you don't have at least $100 or even $150.

At $50 an iem would do better. But iems have their limitations and this has a better sense of space than most. For people who don't want in-ears, headphones are the way...let's see what the shootout holds next week. Oh and , not everything benefits from eq...filters to reduce spl at certain frequencies often works better than a boost ..so it is very dependant on how the headphone is set up in the first place. Case in point, the Altiat Cal1H, Sennheiser hd6xx etc etc etc

@@imwhatsnew Yes, I understand that EQ has its own limitations as well, but that doesn't really matter because most of the time the problem is rather the fact that EQ is an absolute rabbit hole that you will never get out of, speaking from experience here LMAO. It's almost impossible to EQ headphones to perfection, unless you just happen to know the magic numbers, which you don't, but you will just keep trying anyways. I don't want to get into this, but long story short, most EQ profiles you see online are garbage and don't apply very well to your own sample or your own ears and there is like a million different variable that could affect the results. You have to EQ by ear (just don't, live a happy life instead). Public EQs work for fixing the most obvious problems, maybe, but that's mostly it.

I got this headset and it all goodexpect the surround system software its total garbage. If u enble the surround system via software, mic starts picking up destop output. Anybody who has this problem it is because of the software. You cant use the surround system while u are a call with anyone they will hear all your desktop sounds like youtube, even in game. I would suggest anyone to delete the software use it regularly without the surround system feature.

These are TERRIBLE for FPS XBOX out of the box!!!! ... BUYERS BEWARE... there is no directional audio out of the box at all if you play FPS games. Whether action is left, right, behind, or above everything sounds the same. You can't tell where anyone is at all unless you see them. If anyone knows how to fix this without using a computer please share!
