My Father was a docto r in u.p.and served there 14 years and that time he was earning app.Rs2000 per month. In 1962 war he joined army on Rs400 Pay per month.We were three brothers and one sister of the age from 06 years to 12 years and we were hand to mouth and our financial condition was very poor,but to serve the nation he chose the army and served 17 years upto his retirement very happily.

All this sounds fine on paper. But few people know that corruption, discrimination and social, caste and religious bias is rampant in the army. I am recounting the experience of some senior army officers who were harassed during their service. From the outside the army sounds very cozy, but inside, there are a lot of problems when it comes to selection and promotions. It is like the local government service. The more powerful you are the chances are better for you.

My father told me many things. As for the ''corrupt'' army officers, the less said the better. The army discipline in the civilian set up does not work. When everyone is rich and dishonest, a little bit of indiscipline can make a person very wealthy. Have you ever heard of a retired army officer asking for a bribe? in the armd forces the highest pay benefits and the quick promotions and other facilities are being given to those who are selected as an officer in the armd forces than the commissioned officers in civil administrative services. But in the armd forces those who are enrolled as a soldier there is very few pay allowances and pensionery benefits and other facilities rather than officer and very slow promotion. in the fifteen year of services Naik is promoted to havaldar rank and hav is promoted to jco rank on the ninteen years of service

Yes. It is because we work 24 x 7 and study entire life to stay upto date with latest tech. The salary is least in india for same skills.. when u compare other nations in software field.

You people only sit in the AC room and run your fingers on the keyboard. There should be some kind of capping on the Enormous software people salary or else you people will become richer and richer with out any justification of the pay.

Military job isn't for hard cash, but national service. Military officers of rank of Brigadier or above literally live in 2 to 3 room rented flats after retirement.

Rented ? Not possible.. salaries are also its saved col + are getting 2lacs + pm , yet they get everything free fro ration to residence etc loans are given on almost 2% int rates..i have not seen any Brigadier living in rented apartment .. Defense colony in Delhi and similar areas are developed n allocated only to Army officers

@@kukush1071 I know few people like that, but even if u take loan, your home is actually bank's till u clear all amount. Except the Chandigarh lobby which earned hard cash, military officers live an ordinary life after retirement if they remain faithful to their job.
