Introduction and background on Dr. Puja: 0:00 - 0:45 The four principles of real self-care: 1:30 - 2:26 "The first principle is self-compassion, the second is mindfulness, the third is balance, and the fourth is connection." How to implement self-compassion: 3:16 - 5:09 "Self-compassion is really about talking to yourself the way that you would talk to somebody that you really love and that you really care about." How to implement mindfulness: 5:13 - 7:10 "Mindfulness is really about being present in the moment and noticing when your mind wanders and bringing yourself back." How to implement balance: 7:12 - 9:25 "Balance is really about finding that kind of Goldilocks zone where you're not pushing yourself too hard, but you're also not kind of coasting through life." How to implement connection: 9:28 - 11:04 "Connection is really about finding your people, finding your community, and making sure that you have people in your life that you can rely on." Common misconceptions about self-care: 11:08 - 14:44 "There is this misconception that self-care is selfish and that self-care is only for certain people." "Self-care is also not just about bubble baths and massages and pedicures. That's a piece of it, but it's really about taking care of yourself on a holistic level." How to make time for self-care: 14:50 - 18:40 "It's really about recognizing that taking care of yourself is a priority and it's not something that you can just kind of tack on at the end of the day." How to avoid burnout: 18:43 - 23:10 "I think that the antidote to burnout is really balance and recognizing when you're doing too much and when you need to pull back." The power of small changes: 23:15 - 25:25 "Making that one small change has a cascade effect cause you're modeling then for everybody else that it's okay to make a different choice." Owning your headline: 25:30 - 29:11 "Who gets to decide what the story is right? That is absolutely all about power." Recommended self-care techniques when feeling down: 29:14 - 32:20 "Distraction is not a bad thing. Relationships like friendships, real friendships, and community are really important." Recommended self-care techniques when grieving: 32:23 - 35:13 "The first thing that I would say is compassion is really important because grief in itself is a normal process." Conclusion and where to find Dr. Puja: 35:16 - 37:43
