Now that's the model train I'd like to have. Sadly at 700 quid for the base unit plus probably as much again for the sound and steam, if I bought one and my wife found out you'd see my name in the obituary column. I do have plans to get the TRS system at some stage though for a OO steam loco if I can earn enough dosh. They are the bee's knees of smoke/steam systems for sure. Great to see an update and as for the guy who said your tracklaying was a disgrace ... It could do with a tidy-up, but early days and outdoors so it's all much harder than many think. Cheers and more updates, please 👍

I would imagine that could be rather impressive on a freezing cold winter's morning.🥶 I must say though, not too impressed with the sound card. The sound, and the smoke effects, seem way too fast compared to the speed of the loco.

Awesome video. Unfortunately large locos such as this are out of my price range, hence I'm modelling a branch line (nothing bigger than a GWR manor or a 37, unless heavy freight (so I'd allow a 72xx or 28xx/2884)). I've actually been making quite a bit of progress with my 0 gauge recently. I've bought and weathered 2 dapol 16t mineral wagons from my local shop, who have 2 more in stock for me to buy at a later date, plus a parkside ps30 kit which I'll be building in the next few weeks and weathering to blend in with the rest, bringing my wagon total to 20 at current. I've also bought more decking planks to more than double the length available to me, plus some preservative which I'll be applying now the weather is good for at least a few days, plus then adding roofing felt which I picked up at Wickes earlier. I'm also thinking about wiring the track, think I'll use a HM6000 to control it plus some 24/0.2 wire as a bus wire joined to 7/0.2 droppers using brass terminal blocks, one per length of track. The only problem so far is the availability/price of track, as I only have about 3 yards on top of what I already had out since september, and I've extended the layout by about 10 yards. Now the lionheart mk1s are out, I'm gonna think about getting 3 as a second passenger train (the first being an autocoach), although maybe a 3rd locomotive might be advisable first (I'm thinking a 57xx).

Hi, Richard I always enjoy your great content, one of your videos helped me out with unboxed rolling stock, which I acquired the Warley stock box. This helped me with a recent house 🏡 move & the ability to identify what stock I had in each box with out the need to dig down in miles of bubble wrap. With the recent house move (from a flat to a house) I will be building a purpose built outhouse in the garden, as I am unable to stand up in the loft. I can see that it looks like Mike has rubbed off on you, with you getting into O Gauge, I will probably look at building an O Gauge garden railway 🛤 on my next house move in the future, but for now it's OO Gauge in the new outhouse. Happy 😊 Modelling Phil 😀 PS what video editing software do you use for your videos and Hornby Magazines.

Hi Richard, Super loco and the Steam(water vapour) adds a lot to the realism of it but at £1000 pounds (engine + sound decoder+ smoke generator) it is an expensive locomotive by any means but seeing the Class 37 creep up on you and having seen some American HO Diesels with smoke will you add a TRS smoke generator to it so the modern!!! loco's do not feel left out. Looking forward to seeing how you are progressing with the build but in this the track was very bumpy was it just there without fixing down? Keep safe and well. Cheers Robert.

Hi Richard. Very impressive. The "steam" was quite visible in your video. I was a little concerned in the TRS video that "steam" was escaping from between the funnel and the body of the loco (did they fix this before returning it to you?). You didn't mention how much you paid (or what another customer would pay) TRS to fit the "steam" generator (not the sound decoder) for you.

Its great to see that we've finally began to catch up to the germans in terms of steam generation on large scale models. Albeit be it through modification instead of been factory fitted. But 2-3k for a kit is a gross overestimation. Maybe if you paid someone to build and paint it for you, but a finney kit with a set of wheels and decent motor will only set you back around £800-£900. With that you can also guarantee that bits won't fall off of it.

Sound questions in n OO sound is not to scale ie when train pulls a way the sound is the same loudness in 0 is it any better? Can you hear it in the distance more like coming towards you going away? for whistle can u get long short and the not to good one when not up to pressure or water in the whitest when pulled to early . Can you add realistic carriage sounds as well the click clack wheal screech as the loco sound disperses. Also in 0 as it’s bigger wbay of her features things can be added like steam to make it look sound more real Lastly have u added a light to replicate the fire box and directional lights. Can in 0 u turn of the rear lights (not show red) as it’s coupled to a rake and habe the red light on last coach. Will there be a new junction in this like or any scenic sections like in a shed say a station or depot.

Wilkos or Sainsburys will sell you "2.5L De-Ionised Water" for a pound or two.. likely cheaper than still mineral water!
