I lived in that part of the world for 3 years. OMG I have never seen such a starch eating culture! It's would not be unusual to see a family eating a dinner consisting of 3 different starchy dishes, with corn or flour tortillas and fruit juice! You simply can't maintain good health in that kind of culinary culture.
