The things you talked about in this video shows a lot of personal growth on your part which is amazing to hear. Keep up the great work. Also, it’s no wonder you felt like you were going to die. When you vomit, or even just when eating, the epiglottitis a flap of cartilage located at the base of the tongue, folds downwards to prevent food, or in this case vomit from entering the trachea (wind pipe). This momentarily cuts off your ability to breathe. When you are violently vomiting, this prolongs the process even longer, giving you the feeling that you can’t breathe. Add on the fact that it was coming out of your nose which we primarily use to breathe, this exacerbates these feelings. Not only that but due to vomit being stomach acid, it irritates, the delicate flesh in the sinuses, which can inflame them. Making it feel a lot worse. Combine all these things and alarm signals start going off in the brain because you were unable to breathe, which causes the fight or flight response to kick in, giving you the feeling of impending doom. The good news is that, as you found out, is more or less harmless even if it is extremely scary. I’m glad to hear everything turned out well.
