I hate the whole "gendered" baby clothes stuff... here in Russia, unless you go super expensive, your only options are blue/pink and sometimes yellow/green - but usually, the yellow is an ugly mustardy shade of yellow and the green is the ugliest, almost neon colour. When I see something gender neutral in grey, cream or any other colour that isn't one of those 4, I feel like snatching it just because it's of an acceptable colour in my opinion...

No reason you can't by clothes a few sizes up, just try and keep in mind where you'll be in the weather season. Its always good to have a few bigger sizes for the road. :)

The Darth Vader Outfit is ideal when on an outing with daddy. lol I agree with the neutral baby clothes ideal. I personally think it's important to break traditional gender roles... You know the typical generalizations girls wear skirts & have an abundance of pink everything, girls play with dolls & not remote control cars, wearing blue, & climbing trees are not encouraged unless the child is male. I think girls can play in the dirt, carry a dinosaur (vs traditional doll) & go to ballet. Whatever interests the child has should be encouraged regardless of traditional gender roles. *rolls eyes* I think it's important to allow the child to set the limits as far as where their interest lay. =)

Clothes are a good way to distinguish the difference between day time & night. They know if they're in dresses or proper outfits that it's day time & sleepysuits mean it's time to sleep. You'd be surprised at how well it helps

Let's not speculate on how you think mike feels, it's not nice to say you think he's not into the pregnancy because they're expecting a girl, men are never the kind to jump up and down to go shopping. I have two boys but was always drawn to girls clothes because they were so pretty, but that didn't mean I didn't want the boy I was carrying in pregnancy. Men are drawn to boys stuff and woman to girly stuff, that's what I've found anyway! You can see they're both very excited for their babies arrival!

One of the most endearing memories of my grandfather is of a day I went to our farm with him and I wasn't dressed for the occasion. So before heading towards it, we stopped at this local shop and since he didn't know how to shop for girls he took me to the boys section. He proudly bought me boy's jeans and a blue dinosaur shirt. 😂 my, do I wish I still had it. I loved it! Anyway, I thought of that as I saw Mike choosing more boyish things for his girl. Let him because one day she'll really treasure it... as well as have a deep laugh about it.

I love neutral and traditional baby clothes. I love my daughter in bloomers, blouses, cardigans and knee socks with tbar shoes. I love my son like a little Prince George. Buy hundreds of muslins! You use them all the time and my one year old and three year old still use them as comfort blankets. X

A helpful tip - try buy Babygrows that press hood/buttons up the front as oppose to the ones that go over the head. They are much easier & quicker to get your baby into when your changing them 😊 hope this helps! Xx

Yay for avoiding too much pink! One warning on the next stuff. They come up really big. If you happen to make small babies you may need tiny baby rather than newborn. My daughter was 6lb4 at birth (so on the smaller end of normal) and she was in tiny baby for the first month. Generally supermarket baby grows were smaller than m&s and next was bigger again.

Congrats Mike and Fleur and love all your purchases - such beautiful items! From experience, you will end up with SO much stuff your little one never wears because a) you will get a gazillion baby clothes as gifts when she is born, b) you will quickly realise you have favourites that you want her to wear most of the time from a practicality perspective (Eg when you are taking her out in the carrier, or she's playing on her playmat and rolling around or even crawling, dresses are just sooooo impractical as get caught under their knees etc) and c) you have several poonamis in the early days and so don't want the nice clothes wrecked! I do actually spend most of my time now toting stuff down to the charity shop or giving away to friends items that my bub never got to wear. But it's so hard as it is just such an exciting experience! Hehehe. Enjoy this very special time x
