Hey, I just wanted to point out that, to my knowledge, filming in the Duke Humphrey’s library is strictly forbidden. At least that was the case when I was studying in Oxford 2 years ago. I would have expected that, as someone who always points out we should act respectfully towards librarians and libraries, you would abide by this rule. Hope you keep this in mind in the future!

Hi Ruby, so this will interest you, swear :) so in this library they filmed a LOT of scenes from the movie "A discovery of witches", which is based on an amazing 3-book series by Deborah Harkness. I know you are not so much into stories with supernatural beings, but this one is very 'realistic' and logical and the perfect read for autumn coincidentally. It's also not a movie but a series with three seasons (one per book), and the first season has 80% of the scenes in Oxford, because the main character is a Professor of history, a book worm and works on a research paper on Victorian history on alchemy, and she does all her research in this library, and her best friend is the guy who gets the books from the stacks, complete with the air tube delivery system... it's all in the first season and I just know you'd love that first season, give it a try... Why do folk always have to have a dig at people who have not done anything? As for JKR, she is an author who wrote a book and feels strongly about her sex. What has she “done” to the LGBTQ+ community, other than disagree with comments by government ministers? Are people not allowed to state fact anymore? What happened to free speech? Universities used to be great places to debate all sorts of questions, but of late it seems to be folk are terrified of mentioning anything that could upset another. This is how we learn and our society evolves, by discussing facts, questioning and research.
