Now this, this is the webshooter I’m always into. The watch kind with fluid webbing and super concealable too. I’ve always respected your work for years since your first shooter and this takes a huge leap.

Great job man, this is one of the coolest webshooters I have ever seen! Would you be able to make a wrist mounted grappling hook launcher in this same compact form factor?
@theAmazing
@theAmazing 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Grappling hook launcher would definitely be trickier, not sure it could be in a watch, unless you only want to shoot thread and it can't really retract you or anything heavy. I am looking into a serious grappling design right now though.

God man, it's just gorgeous. You really are dedicated to your craft and it shows. I've been following webshooters since White Widow and wadaltmon and all them were still around. I was a kid then, and now that I'm in college it's astounding to see how accessible technology has become, and just how many intelligent engineers have come onto the project. I know it's not a breakthrough in the fluid or anything, but custom milled webshooters are probably one of the highest peaks in design yet! It's so sharp and just so efficient. Very expensive, I'm sure, and I know it all didn't work out... but man, it sure is gorgeous. I can't wait to see what happens when you get some better pieces in. You know, I was wondering... with machining metal, would it be possible to make an even smaller Quick Connect mechanism? Sort of like what you did with the valve? And speaking of that valve - that's impressive design. Really cool stuff you were able to pull off. I know simple is better in engineering, but I wonder if it'd be possible to machine custom solenoid valves too? Or some other of electronically actuated valve? Most commercial ones are way too massive, but there is some really cool stuff in the medical industry that shows how compact solenoid valves could really be. Granted, they're not at all build for high pressure, but what you showed here gives me some hope something could be done. All in all man, this is gorgeous. It's simple. It's compact. It's stylish. I Mena what else could you ask for? Keep it going man 💛
@theAmazing
@theAmazing 2 жыл бұрын
Solenoid valves really do not have the right geometry for efficient web-shooters, I would stray away from that concept. It may be possible for a smaller quick-connect, but I didn't design this one myself, so I'd have to know more before doing that. And I don't have the right tools to make a good one.
@ChateauLonLon
@ChateauLonLon 2 жыл бұрын
@@theAmazing Fair enough! Can I ask what makes their geometry poor? Just the solenoid piston obstructing linear flow?

Do you think you can make this possible? From a comic book called Araña: Here Comes the Spider-Girl Vol 1. A tool known as Spider-Like Bola: Araña invented multipurpose spider-like grappling hooks, discs about the size of a palm, attached to cords; able to remotely grip objects, and act as both weapons (ranged or melee) and in a function similar to that of Spider-Man's web-lines. The multipurpose is so creative she can detach the cord at any length to use as a traditional bola or grappling hook for others. Do you think you can make that? 🤯🙏😇

Huh, looks like this could be pretty easily turned into Insomniac's webshooter design.. If the chamber can be wider than it is long that is. It already has the connector on the backside.
