Came here after finding out this morning that Sarah Becker died. I met her when I was 16 at the Family Values Tour (random trivia: this was also the same night Staind debuted “Outside” to the world and recorded the live version that made the song a huge hit) and she was ridiculously amazingly unnecessarily warm and KIND to me. We shared a sandwich in catering and talked skating, Primus, the logistics of “Reality” TV, and just life in general. We took a picture together and she gave me her AOL Instant Messenger screen name and we went on to talk once a night almost every single night for nearly 3 years. She was the living embodiment of positivity and compassion and she taught me so much in the short time we got to know eachother. I can’t even fathom the thought of her ending her life, and this world is a MUCH darker place without her in it. RIP 😢

Warning ⚠️ going to ramble here. I grew up watching the Miami season as a kid. Watched reruns and VHS recordings as a board kid constantly. I spent more time with these people than my own family. So in a lot of ways a Miami Homecoming would feel more like a family reunion than an actual one. This interview was great but the little things like hearing Joe’s same laugh again bring back so many memories. Also interesting to hear that he’s still in touch with Nic. Seeing Cynthia on All Stars and her and Flora on here with another podcast has just been the chefs kiss. What did I do to deserve all this Miami nostalgia in the year 2022? And so soon after I just rewatched the season all over again during Covid quarantine not too long ago. Like Joe said Mike would be the one to ask about info concerning the reunion but I am shocked to not see him in any interviews. Listening to this interview and hearing Joe said he’s had luck with the ladies reminds me of on the show how Mike was supposed to be the ladies man but Joe was the one with all the women around him. He took two different girls to the prom! And would practice not cumming during sex! That’s how Joe was so blessed with the women, he wanted to be a porn star when he grew up! Joe was quite the character just like the other 6 in Miami. Homecoming : Miami was needed like yesterday. Come on BMP give it to us!

I saw Joe at a Jewel concert in the Bay Area back in 1999. I wanted to say hello to him, but he was hanging out with at least three women; two of whom were ecstatic about being in his company and I think the third one might have been his former roommate Sarah, but I only caught a brief glimpse of her face before she turned her head and walked away.

Miami was the season the show slowly started moving away from documentary towards reality TV by producing scenarios. It was also the last season for several years that they’d cast people from the city they’re shooting in which really changed the type of stories shown to a more controlled environment artificial scenarios. It was the last season in which cast had there personal cars or worked jobs outside of production approved jobs. Also after Miami they began moving from residential houses to warehouse spaces in commercial areas.

Mike always seemed cool and laid back, he wasn't my favorite on the show but he seemed cool. Honestly I saw a recent interview and I've been rewatching real-world Miami. In watching him as an adult now and not a kid he seemed lost, having mommy issues, shallow and tawdry. I could be totally wrong but that's my observation.

She's the only holdout but they're still in talks about it. The same thing with Austin with Johanna. I heard that she was or is the only holdout.
