I love the fact you share good seamanship, best practice & etiquette afloat. Unique for a boat review. Great job Dan. 🇬🇧 (pommy Phil)

Thanks Phil! I'm going to steal your lines about 'best practise & etiquette'... we would just say 'don't drive like a Di#khead'... your delivery sounds much better.

"it's feeling like it's almost a summers day" We've just gone through our supposedly hottest month of the year here in Ireland July, without one day without rain😢 I lived in Australia over 10 years ago and always miss it. Recently found your channel and really enjoying the fantastic boating content 🤙

They should pass a law in Ireland that if it rains more than 50% of summer you all get a 50% tax refund to spend on a holiday to Australia and go boating. I feel like that's only fair right...?

These performance videos are such a healthy & enjoyable mix. They are fun to watch, instructive about a boat's potential performance, and yet also a bit tutorial. Another winner! Dan, for the benefit of having that larger aft cabin, the IPS drives (and their weight) inevitably end up w-a-y at the back end of the boat. Is that a concern to you when advising a client, e.g. as the fuel in the tanks is consumed and the COG shifts further aft?

Thanks as always for the feedback Jack! Regarding the CG yes I am always careful with things like mounting tenders out back which can be noticable. Tender garage brings that weight further in which I like. When it comes to IPS and the location of the associated weight I just pay attention to how much (if any) trim is required to balance the boat at cruise when i'm testing the boat empty. If you need to trim the heck out of it then she's gunna be a bit to handle when you've loaded the cockpit up with passengers but if you have plenty to play with then no worries and she should be fine.

I like the GT45 and the 41, both great packages. Still, the IPS units are so expensive to service over a traditional shaft, that's really the only turn off. I like the two cabin layout, the tender garage is amazing for a 45.

How do you feel about inboard gas like the 6.2 mercruiser sea ray uses? I'm eyeing that option on the 320 sundancer
@captcav767 Жыл бұрын
@@fearhand12 To be honest, i love the 40ft market, but probably the best rig is the Schaefer 400 with the trip 300 Merc outboards! Easy servicing, can get the drives out of the water when docked, joystick control and a true 50kt boat!

Schaeffer have invited me to test their new outboard powered sports cruisers in Brazil so hope to get that done early next year for you guys. Agree if i was going petrol i'd also opt for outboard on a sports cruiser.

Can you fit a Williams mini jet in the tender garage?
