I used to be a fan of McDonald's. It was a treat for me from time to time. The last time I had it, I decided I didn't like it anymore. It just didn't appeal to me. But the truth is probably that the taste hasn't changed. It's just that at that price, that kind of thing doesn't please me anymore.

As you say, it's a double cheeseburger on the saver menu. The double cheeseburger has always been that size as it dates from the days before people decided that they had to eat a whole day's calories in every burger. I had one of these today, and at that price it was a cracking burger. Nice taste and a warm chilli afterglow.

Haven't been able to go in a McDonald's since 1988 when I ate a McMuffin with a bad hangover and it made me throw up, all their stores and all their food has a very unique smell which now sets off my gag reflex, even a mate eating a burger he got takeout from there sets me off, I think I made myself allergic to McDonalds! 🤣

I always get a double QP for my protein load before hitting the gym... I always wished it had tomatoes and lettuce with it.. Big Arch sounds right up my street tbh. I can't wait. Doesn't matter what you eat as long as your body uses it.

The BEST chips/fries I have ever eaten are those chips served in Pepe’s Piri Piri fast-food joints, they are thicker than french-fries but thinner than traditional chips, and taste infinitely superior than fresh potato chips sold in Fish & Chips shops anywhere in the UK. The second best chips I have eaten are the pre-cut frozen chips sold in Turkish Kebab shops, they too are thicker than french-fries, but thinner than traditional chips.

Its not bad for the price but i prefer standard double cheeseburger. For the last £20 years if i go to mcdonalds i always buy a standard double cheeseburger them that buy a premium burger are being ripped off. Iv tried a few of the premium ones over the years and there always worse or the same as double cheeseburger but over twice the price. Good review Simon 👌

Just so you know, the lady when you are ordering asked "are you using the app today". I'm sure you are aware but you can order on the app ahead of driving up to the voicebox, quote the code and then drive straight through to pickup as you will have already paid via your phone.They seem to push for that these days! I believe you quoted your personal code assigned on the app, hence the confusion!

The double cheeseburger is the best burger McDonalds do. The relish added for this is not hot or very tasty. All they needed to do was add some Frank's hot sauce and a few slices of jalapeno and it would have been great.

You can take your time placing an order in advance then all you have to do is quote the order code at the speaker and skip the first window where you usually pay. You also accumulate reward points and receive occasional offers like McDonald’s Mondays etc. This. Is. The. Way.

Mind you I don’t like Mc Donald’s food, as it is too bland for my tastes; however sometimes when I’m away from home and there’s no alternative, I am likely to eat at Mc Donald’s, I always carry a bottle of my own very hot chilli sauce to make their burgers slightly better. A fortnight ago I tasted their Mc Rib, I was very disappointed with it, the bread used is rubbish; the rib-steak had very little taste, the only flavour came from the BBQ sauce, it also had diced raw onions, it tasted worse than a Big Mac yet Big Macs don’t taste great. Burger King burgers taste much better. I recon that majority of people are not concerned about quality and great taste, they prioritise paying less hence why Mc Donald’s is so much more popular.

If shareholders were murdered, the cost of food and energy bills would reduce considerably, and the money saved could then be used to pay a genuine living wage to the poorly paid workers.

To be fair, depending on the adjunct it could be healthier to drink the adjunct beer. Maize or rice are no more unhealthy than barley, and can give different flavours and mouthfeel. German lagers are lovely, but they are often very similar due to the purity laws. You're only left with the roast of the malt and the hops to mix up the flavour profile if you discount off flavours.
