Had an episode of flash pulmonary edema in 2005. Your lungs fill up with fluid. Heart rate was over 220. Oxygen saturation 65. Came very close to being put on a ventilator. Last thing I thought about was screaming.

I'm from Alberta Canada and we have an at-fault system when it comes to car accidents, unlike Florida and some other provinces. So yes, we tend to report accidents especially when it is the fault of someone like Methany or Methew. If they are high or drunk, it is ruled their fault, and the insurance handles it accordingly. I don't understand a "no fault" system, it basically lets bad drivers get away with their actions. It also encourages people to be dishonest about their drinking record.

If you are a bad driver, your premiums should reflect that; same goes for good drivers, they lower your premium for having a clean driving record. Our insurance covers up to a million or two, while "no fault" only covers a tens of thousands. It does not take into account pain and suffering and other medical issues. And a bad driver only having to pay the deductible means they get away with their bad actions. So if I pay for premium insurance and my deductible is low, they get rewarded for MY good behavior and common sense. To me "no fault" seems like a scam to let the insurance companies off the hook. They make profits without truly offering the service they claim to.

I have the same thought frequently, both in regard to folks in these videos and to some people I meet in real life. It has made me regard myself as privileged simply because I do not exist in a constant state of intoxication or hysteria, and am not surrounded by violence and chaos 24/7. I truly don’t know how some of these people manage to get through the day. And I guess they often don’t.
