If we accept the premise that most abortions are due to poverty (it’s not true, 75% are self reported as being used as a form birth control), then those poor kids are much likelier to work harder to overcome their circumstances. When it comes to legitimizing the electoral college, I think it is safe to say that our 50 united states would not unite to form our nation without it. Non-coastal states would not accept that level of representation in a federal government.

The college students argument about the power asymmetry of a 30 year old arguing with college students is hilarious. These are the same people who think it is ok for a teacher to discuss a child's sexuality/ identity with a child and without parents. Clearly it was just a shame strategy toward Kirk and Ramaswamy and not a deeply held value or well reasoned argument.

The anti-electoral college folks don't understand the fundamental insterests of rural America vs the suburbs. If the masses in the cities always got their way, their poor descisions would destroy the foods and goods supplied from the hinterlands. It's already hard enough on our farmers, but the folks in the big cities take everything for granted. When their interests are overidden by large cities, there is no incentive for them to keep the country going.
