The problem with blocking up the bunghole and dumping water into the crater, is that you make it pretty much impossible to get any badwater that you need for stuff in the future. Maybe you should build a *second* megaquaduct around the bunghole leading of to the edge of the crater and off the edge of the map so that you will always have access to the badwater.
@artcasual992 ай бұрын
While that's a good idea, Matt's seasons usually don't last that long. He'll set up a huge project for the season and once that's done, onto the next season and project. Once the Poo-cano is fully clogged and full of water, this season will most likely end. No use in doing all that if he's not gonna use it in the future.
@cathygrandstaff19572 ай бұрын
Someone said there’s a second bunghole outside the volcano so he could always use that. Also Matt never really goes crazy with terraforming the way Skye does so he doesn’t really need a ton of Badwater for dynamite. That and as soon as Version 6 is out of experimental he’ll want to create a new town and a new season.

20:53 Water physics is weird, a one wide drain is fine The problem is you made an elevation change in the water channel, and since there is a limited amount of water that can go over a block edge you limited it to 1 edge of water, Basically the channel being one wide is fine as long as it’s flat and leads to a large flat section since then the water has a ton of block edges to be split between
@AlchemistCH2 ай бұрын
And also there is the flow speed. Sudden influx of water into space with narrow outflow can rapidly increase water level, but as the flow speed in the outflow picks up, the water level can start to drop again
@jorgedaniel96562 ай бұрын
Water physics in this game are the reason I stopped playing this game, they are truly awful considering they are a main component of gameplay. I really hope the new update is as good as it seems to be
@RailRide2 ай бұрын
Just out of curiosity (mainly since I probably haven't read enough comments), what happens to water flowing onto a levee block from above? Would a trough of levee blocks constrain flowing water, or would it leak through and spill out the bottom (must be a eason for waterproof floors awaiting the next update). I'm assuming then that water flowing into such a levee trough (cross section assuming a "U" shape) elevated on platforms would not work under the current plysics model and the water would simply spill through somehow. I pondered this being that the "megaqueduct"appears destined to block off the water flow in the bottom of the valley.
@AlchemistCH2 ай бұрын
@@RailRide In the experimental, watertight floors are basically height 0 levees - so it's pretty much choice between spending some metal or making extra layer of wood. both options work, no need to put watertight floors over levees. In the old version, you simply are not allowed to put levees on top of anything else than ground and other levees. To be fair, when I bought the game I was disappointed with these water limitations - but v6 experimental was already a thing. With it, options increase infinitely. Including unlimited functional depth of reservoirs and automated water discharge with sluices
@RailRide2 ай бұрын
@@AlchemistCH Thanks for the clarification. So in the version being used in this series, when the "megaqueduct" is completed, there are no alternatives to it having a tremendous amount of water tied up in it before the 'poocano' even starts to fill. Under those rules I imagined an aqueduct comprised of 4x-wide stacks of levee blocks with the outer rows rising 1-2 blocks higher, leaving a channel in the middle. The idea being to ferry water to the 'cano without having to tie up a water column reaching all the way to gound level for its entire length. But it would be twice as expensive wood-wise, still block off the valley floor, and still _sounds_ like the existing physics would prevent it from working as intended.

@pensfan0442 ай бұрын
Matt, you're gonna need badwater as a crafting resource in future. Capping off the only reliable source of badwater and filling the poocano with water means you won't be able to get it out without draining all the water or letting the water evaporate. It would be better if you built levees surrounding the badwater source and made a poo canal leading it off the map so you can actually pump it for storage. You can fill the rest of the poocano with water, but you'll need to have SOME ability to pump badwater reliably at any given time.

There are lots of buildings and they don't have enough time to get a full meter on everything.
