Paths make them walk faster! If they jump paths, then the most efficient (non-engineering terminology) path would be straight from wok to nearest tree, then zig-zag up and down through the whole tree patch, ending on a tree. Prestiging in this game is very well implemented. You can't simply leave it running with an autoclicker to earn, and you can tell when you're struggling to get points.

Maybe the most effective path is to flood fill the map. So no matter which tree they come from, they always jump the path.
