@@mikyhtx Yep, in late December last year someone stole over $600 million in crypto in one go using a simple exploit of code that was already in place within the system. Robbing a bank in person is spare change these days, not to mention much harder and more risky. That guy's thousands of crypto wallets and transactions he's using to launder the money are all publicly traceable, as all crypto wallets and transactions are, and yet it's still almost guaranteed that he'll get away with all of it.

Well in his case it wouldn't make an ounce of difference, He had detailed notes of the crimes and the amount stolen, the gun linked by ballistics to the crimes with matching ammunition to what he shot at every scene, matching disguises, matching vehicle in his wife name, etc. It's like when you played hide an seek as a kid and got away with a spot for so long that the seeker gave up, if that ever happened to you the likelihood of you explaining your spot and all the close encounters is likely because you know that it doesn't much matter anymore but it is funny to describe and take pride in your spot.

Most people don't realize how easy it is to rob a bank, if you're believable enough to the tellers, you're guaranteed to walk (or run) out of there with money ..... BUT, what most people who actually go through with robbing a bank don't realize is that the capture rate of bank robbers is like 98% .... so unless you're a criminal mastermind, don't do it

Agreed! That was a really stupid move, fuelled by impatience. 1. What motel in their right mind would have a maintenance guy knock on the door, for routine maintenance, of an occupied room? If you disturbed me for THAT, I'd be pissed! He should have been suspicious, and he blew it off anyway! At the very least, they should have faked an emergency, like a gas or water leak, and used an FBI agent. Or, cut the power and have HIM complain. If he took that hotel employee hostage, they would have looked really silly! 2. If they were that afraid of him, they knew somebody was in there. They should have just waited.
