Black Berry Smoke should be much bigger than they are. Not just Charlie but the whole band are amazing musicians. They should be selling out the big arenas. I went to their show in Edmonton. All the people i talked to at the show never heard of them until they looked them up on KZbin after hearing the show advertised on the radio. Everyone who was new to them left as a fan im sure. The show was amazing.

Daryl’s band is so good that often the versions of tunes recorded on his show are better than the originals, as long as Daryl doesn’t try to get too out of control with his harmonies. Lol But what a killer environment he has created for making great music. Much respect.

This just shows to me that there is certainly something special about the Turner brothers! This rendition is mechanically there, "on time" but feels like it's pushing forward just a bit. The original BBS continuously pulls or holds you back... it's so very subtle, lax and hard to explain but just a different feel.

A nice thing about Daryl’s show is the sound. If you have good speakers connected, you can crank it up and it sounds good. Not like a tv show. I’d like to see some good rockabilly stars on there like Dave Alvin, Brian Setzer, Raul Malo of the Mavericks, Eric Heatherly. Don’t think this show has ever been a let down. Not one that I’ve seen anyway.

I'm a monitor guy myself but a good tip I got about in ears is this.. if you want to hear the air and the audience then set up a dedicated mic right in front of the stage pointed at the audience but use some compression to keep the audience noise down. That is suppose to help with the in ear monitor being too much isolated feel.
