Raglan was an incompetent fool. The sloth, apathy, and incompetence of the British high command were unforgivable.

An excellent Series. History Hit does some amazing work with their inhouse documentaries but outstanding Series like this one on the Crimean War have always been extremely rare. If History Hits would improve their websites search engine I might resubscribe. But then I'll at this point the History Hits Network on KZbin drops something new (or even old like this video) that's worth watching in about the same amount of time that it takes to fight through their websites search engine looking for a video you know they have and in the end never finding so.....

One important thing must not be forgotten. The high command enjoyed some sort of immunity from any sort of punishment from above. On the other hand, people from lower strata of society were not considered as human beings at all.Such mindset led to such amount of loss of precious lives at such period and even later . Such unthinking mismanagement occurred at the time of "Somme " also for the British troops. However, at such time, the leadership got changed. This happened in colonial warfare, when lives of common soldier s were expendable commodity at best. Now,only in despotic countries like China or Russia, such things happen regularly.
