All you need to do is compare tank output from USSR and US versus Germany to see how badly the Germans failed in this respect. Not really. They never had a viable means to deal with the UK. There was no true way to prevent the Royal Navy intervening against an attempted landing (the Sea Lion plan is ridiculously optimistic and even that was hopeless once the air battle was lost by fall 1940) and no way to build the kind of surface fleet required to challenge them. Basically, once Churchill refused to surrender, there was really nothing the Axis could do to force it any time in the immediate future. Since war with the USSR is quite literally a requirement of Nazi ideology (If you’re not smashing the Bolshevik menace and winning lebensraum for the German master race, what are you doing? Why are you here?), and the UK couldn’t be crushed in any practical way any time in the next several years, a two front was was inevitable. And of course, since Japan kinda has to bring the US into the war to fulfill their own insane ideology, and has to do so by late 1941 before the US begins to overtake them in naval strength (something the Japanese were anticipating and would have happened given American naval build up plans), you basically have a countdown that ends with the US having an atomic bomb in summer 1945, so if you don’t win by then, you’re done for. However, winning by then is impossible since victory requires building a surface fleet to defeat to Royal Navy and the US Atlantic Fleet, which would likely take over a decade if it was possible at all. The "best" outcomes for Germany in alternate history are that they play their cards better on the defensive in 1943 and 1944, thus holding out long enough to get nuked in August 1945. Since American nuclear production was slow, it might not be until 1946 that the USAAF turned the entire country into a radioactive wasteland. Neither the V2 nor the Me-262 were ever going to be war winners. Even if the Me-262 had worked well, the Allies already had jet fighter designs and even functional jet fighters and could have switched their massive industrial advantage to building those instead, leaving the jet fighter as, at best, a temporary advantage. The V-2 was exceptionally pointless, costing as much as an entire Pz IV per shot, and never accurate enough to do anything more than hit somewhere in a city-sized target. While an interesting rocketry exercise for Von Braun, who got to use Hitler’s vast supply of slave labor for his personal curiosity, it was not about to become a practical weapon for achieving any strategic or operational goal, and every attempt to use it as such failed utterly.

Haven't watched this yet, but I already know it's going to be full of misinformation. Edit: Yeah. I only got a few seconds in, I'm done. Stealth bomber? The Horten 229? Do yourself a favor and give this channel a wide berth.

The Horton 229 was tested by NASA as a stealth bomber. It really didn't even have to be considering its impressive speed and maneuverability. The Germans had many impressive weapons in the pipe line. Sorry that hurts your fragile ego but it's the absolute truth. Better you not watch this show, you might get your feelings hurt. 😆

@brealistic3542 I always catch an ear full for weeks sometimes for my elaborations . For me, there are two main topics regarding WW2 Germany. The strategic war, and the idealistic war. The two are almost separately beyond land occupation. Anything beyond those two, especially if it's other worldly, is almost irrelevant. Thanks ever much

@@brealistic3542 That's exactly why I'm not watching. It really does hurt my feelings a bit that these myths are still being propagated. NASA has never touched the Horten, and why would they? At that point it was ancient news. The testing was done by Northrop, but it didn't yield anything new that other flying wings from the past 20 years hadn't already discovered. It's one of those pervasive tales that have been debunked decades ago, along with "the invincible Tiger", or "blitzkrieg on meth" and a dozen other myths. But you don't have to take my word for it. If you ever get interested in the details it's all one search away. When you develop an interest in history you'll be surprised at the amount of misinformation in popular media, enough to get your feelings hurt.
