When you said that sometimes real doesn't alway look realistic so you had to paint the hat, all i could think of was the Simpsons Radioactive man ep where the film guys say that cows don't look like cows on film so they have to paint horses, and if they want horses they usually tape a bunch of cats together :)

I think Raider types have the coolest outfits, that one with the spark plug shoulders would be perfect. If I ever get the room in my place for this kinda project, I'm gonna adopt that idea.

LaRaikaa I just started making my costume tonight, and I put a baby doll head on my shoulder lol, so we have some crazy ass ideas, spark plugs, a baby doll head XD

>Hey Nuclear Snail! < I have a suggestion for you to try. Take some blue jeans and shoot them at a distance with a 12 gage with bird shot. Then wash the pants several times. You need to cover the zipper with a piece of steel but the shredded hole effect is pretty cool. Don't shoot them too close! Stay away at least 30 feet. I did this when I was a kid in high school. Enjoy!

@nuclearsnailstudios what are your thoughts on duct tape and/or black electric tape on weapons and armor?
@harrybailey47724 жыл бұрын
Currently I only make outfits/ loadouts for airsoft and before someone comments I know this is very different however I believe I can apply the same mindset to apocalyptic setting. I make something "realistic" in the setting I'm playing in. For example if I'm being a soldier I won't have 500 mags on me etc

What about super-realistic settings, like a civil war/civilians resisting against a foreign invasion, would'nt a tactical vest over normal clothes be sufficient in that case?

Hi, What type of wrap did you use for your rifle, and was it that color to start with or did you age and distress it?

Not sure whether someone mentioned this before: Nice trigger control! :) I'm not into guns but people keeping their fingers _on_ the trigger when moving around with a gun do disturb even my immersion ;) Happens a lot in movies too.

also useful: the sliding scale of shiny vs. gritty, as per tv tropes. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SlidingScaleOfShinyVersusGritty i cover it in my costuming 101 classes, and it's a useful analogy. great video. we look forward to seeing you at wasteland someday.
