This series is single handedly motivating me to declutter for the new year 🫶

Use the sushi plates for something else! Spoon rest, candle plate, soap bar tray,... I love all these declutter videos
@KimK3695 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking of some kind of wall decoration, but your ideas for the sushi plates are awesome also. I don’t know that I could get rid of them knowing my brother and I made them. It’s the sentiment. If they were any other random plate, it would be easier to part with.
@fionaearp8032 Жыл бұрын
If Jess feels comfortable parting with them, I can get that. I’m the type to keep most sentimental things but not /everything/

If you put bendy carrots in cold water for a bit, it refreshes them. Love declutter, so satisfying. 😊

I'll remember that for my next bendy carrot, thanks! 😄💜

I definitely need a kitchen re-set, we have 2 shelves in a cupboard taken up by glasses we haven't used in a decade at least 😅 And our mug storage only works if 2 are always in use! You're inspiring me, this weekend the re-set begins ❤

Yessssss 🥳 I hope it goes well! 💜

If you (or one of your planner friends) have a laminator, make an reusable invertory list for your overstock buckets. That way you can keep a running list for them next to the meal planning board. This will make it easier to know what you have and prevent duplicates being bought and old purchases not being used. You can also keep it attached to the bucket but if that is your preference, just remember to reference it when making meal plans for the week.

Thermi, themoses... Amazing! Made me laugh so much. I have been enjoying your home reset videos and have been inspired to tackle my kitchen next weekend 🎉

I also can't reach the top shelves which is why we store things only my partner needs, things that we don't use often, and larger items that I can just barely pull out with the tippiest tips of my fingers 😅 by the way I can recommend storing the tupperware containers with their lids on. I've switched to this way about 2 years ago and it's an absolute game changer. We have fewer containers but they get used very frequently and we're not missing anything. If you're not too sure how often you use your containers, consider logging in which time ranges you use what type of container. This will help you evaluate how many duplicates you need 😊

I don’t know why, but I wasn’t expecting Vogel to speak nor to have a non-US accent. Clearly it is time for more caffeine. 😂 I loooove your videos. They’ve been so inspiring, and I’ve been having such a fun time using my first bullet journal so far. It’s definitely only cute because of your tips. 😂🥰

I would use the sushi plates you made with your brother as a wall decoration. You get to keep them, but they don't take up any cupboard space.

Yeah! Good on ya, Jess and Vogel. I have a lazy Susan in my fridge for all the condiments or random containers, game changer! I am 5'10" and those high cupboards I can't reach without at stepstool too. I ended up just using that space for knick knacks like a wine bottle from our wedding and a pretty teapot. They are just not very functional.

Yeah the majority of stuff we have up top are those "once a year" type things 😝💜

I do a five step process for my daily routine, which involves doing a kitchen floor sweep (also the same floor type into the living room space/ lounge and hallway towards the bedrooms and bathroom), then dishes put away, dishes done, a 5 minute tidy as needed, and a bathroom tidy. The bathroom floor is swept every 4 days , though I am beginning to think it might work to do it every thumb day / every fifth day… a thought from The Poisonwood Bible that we just read at the library and can be paced better in my life.
@bookhuggah Жыл бұрын
The floor crumbs are so interesting to me that is why I clean the kitchen floor every day. I cannot control the other people in my home and things dropping onto the floor, but I can do the floor sweep and get it set for comfort when walking barefoot. Totally a tactile thing, totally not anything that I expect from my house mates.

As someone who also enjoys sitting, it did not occur to me to take Everything out of the pantry....I guess the shelves definitely need a wash by now though! 😂

Heck yeah for "Team Sitting" 💪 Taking everything out lets us get a MUCH better appreciation of what we actually have 😝 and notice how many packets of nori we have 😂💜

Haha I'm more the type to use the same mug for many many cups in a row (when I get into drinking hot drinks) and then go many many weeks without having a hot drink 😝

Plastics drawer: a ways back, I watched a video that advocated storing your plastics with the lids ON. Crazy, right? But it worked: the lids are never lost, and anything that doesn't fit is rid of, because we don't need it.
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
Oh nice! probably requires them to be thoroughly dry before putting away, yah? 🤔 now can I trust Vogel to do that.... 😝
@wurdnurd1 Жыл бұрын
@@JashiiCorrin Well, because we don't need so many, we invested in the glass storage containers, so that whole "dry" thing doesn't factor 😊

I do truly hate how arbitrary a fridge feels. I am one of those folks that the crisper drawer is were produce goes to die, so I've rearranged my fridge entire outside of convention. The only one I still follow is milk in the middle and not in the door cause it's the coldest part of the fridge 😅
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
Haha 😂 where produce goes to die is a very apt description 😝💜
@irisbear9421 Жыл бұрын
I did not know milk was supposed to be in the middle! (Mine is because the gallon won't fit in my door though)
@kariikosmos3005 Жыл бұрын
@irisbear9421 if it lives in the door, it goes bad faster 😅 kind of a bit of a scam really, fridge design is ...

I love a good kitchen reset. But I have a weird confession: there is ALWAYS something I find in the next reset that is over a year out of date, despite doing them at least every six months. I seriously don't know how it happens! Also had a laugh at Briscoes always having a sale. I was telling Mum the other day that when the "Briscoes lady" retires, it'll be a dark day. It feels like she's been doing this as long as I've been alive! I think it's always nice to want new things, re: containers, but considering the price of containers these days, I too have had to keep with what we have currently.
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
Haha 😂 I’m glad someone appreciated the Briscoes joke, hehehe

I've taken a trick from someone else and we no longer keep veggies in the crisper. Instead we are keeping them eye level. I know put drinks in the crisper, along with low use items.
